HiFi182, please, no vulgarities here. There are minors surfing the forum. And we dont want SOFT to become like UG forums. Edit your post please. Thanks.
thats a tough question, haha. guitar suited for metal can be range from a lot of different perspective. davis guitar will be one for its esp's, edwards's, LTD's and bc rich. guitar 77, for me some schecters are metal guitars, you can try the washburns there too. erm, let me see what else. swee lee have its jackson, but it come a bit pricey. Music theme, have its dean guitars. for me as long its something i like, the guitar is whatever it is to me.
You don't really have to buy this brands, i make do with my epi les paul custom limited ed. just some upgrades like what i did to it, change the pickups and installed orange drops and it have a tone to challenge a gibson or edwards guitar, or thats what i think..haha
thanx bro , I will go there and check them out soon, epi les paul is great too, and if change the pickups to EMG's, its a pretty nice metal guitar too, but I still like the looks of schecter and washburn, looks more special
yeah, personally if you wanna buy schecter. i will usually try to up my budget a bit to get the hellraiser series which comes with active emg's. i love the tempest hellraiser especially and i'm actually saving up now to get one of those. you can maybe also try to invest a bit less on guitars and get a good distortion pedal which will get you a good metal tone.
for pickups, i use tesla and they are freaking awesome. your can try seymour duncans too. they have the active blackouts. or actually you can try using passive pickups like some people do when they play metal, it gives a clearer tone. its like the emg hz or in some cases, some people uses seymour duncan jb pickups.
before u go searching around for metal guitars, DEFINE metal guitars.
sharp pointy edges? explorer, warrior,V shapes?
brand-wise? ESP? jackson?
high output pickups? SD? dimarzio? EMG?
whammy bar/floating bridge? OFR? edge? gotoh?
we need YOUR definition. because there's no fixed definition for METAL guitar. i play my les paul to play metal? no pointy edges. brand? its a tgm. low output pickups. Tuneomatic. can, who say cannot.
anyway. metal-core is not metal. somethingmetal is metal, metalsomething isnt metal. haha
