hi everyone.

ive been searching for simple multi-fx pedals. can u help me recommend.
to help u to help me, i want a something that has distortion, err delay n WAH.

i play all type of genres ranging from ( ok im not really good at sorting genres)
so yeah i play metallica, iron maiden, bon jovi, guns and roses, the strokes,
red hot chilli peppers and many others.
i have a decent amp, not a good one, so just a decent multi fx will do.

here is what i have in mind:
ME-50
err only that.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

for distortion, i come across so many distortion types that i headache like ****.:confused::confused:
lets say i like very high distortion with high gain. people recommend me getting pedals like:

Boss DS-1
Boss SD-1
Boss heavy metal
death metal
somethingsomething metal la.
and oh i still dont get the diff of distortion and overdrive.
read and read and still dont understand.

why do ya guys think?
thanks for reading =):-D

hmmm you can wait for the POD x3 live to come out next year. but i think will be quite expensive. or you can go into a guitar shop and buy a no-name multi effects, i 've seen before, cheap but i dunno if good or not

get pod xt live.... :)... or vox tonelab LE.... if u are abit richer... get gt-8 which im using now... haha... those are the few tat i would recommand and could last u quite sometime :)

To know the difference between distortions and overdrive, check this thread out..

Or else you can also wiki it.. It will help..

"Good" is entirely subjective and relative.. There are however some multi-effects units I can name which are POPULAR, however good it is depends on your taste..
Vox Tonelab XE, Pod XT-Live, Zoom G9.2tt, Korg AX3000G are some of them..
This is of course the 'higher' end multi-effects unit, which means that most would agree they sound less digital and are more widely accepted compared to cheaper units..

And btw, the pedals your friends recommend are all single analog pedals..

woo man thx boiboi, hideto and godspeed64 for answering.
oh yes i checked out the Korg Ax3000g. it does look high end.
thx again for answering. i'll go wiki and google them.

more recommendations are much appreciated. dont really have high budget. somethink i can get for....$300. THX.

iniatially my target was BOSS ME-50. coz i like analog and looks very easy to use.
any reviews? requested at the reviews section request page but errr...ignored?

The Korg is the cheapest among those I mentioned.. and 300 is kinda low budget for multi-effects..
With that amount of cash, I had chosen the Zoom G2.1u at 220 buckeroos.. Quite a good unit, just that analog grew on me after a while..

Good news! City Music selling the Zoom G2.1u for $175 and the Korg AX3000G for $310.

The sale lasts till 31st December. With such insane prices for these effects, you should go down and check it out one of these days. I highly reccommend the Korg AX3000G since it fits your budget.

i would think of overdrive as a much rawer sound than distortion. dunno why.. if you like good overdrive u should try guy a tones.. they look like some cartoon pedal... damn small.. haha

Overdrives to consider (with a tight budget) : Guyatone OD2, Rocktron Sonic Glory, Ibanez TS9dx
Overdrives to consider (with more cash) : Om Laboratories Sahasrara Overdrive

Well, a Pod XT Live, being in the higher end category, would sound more analog and less digital.. Great mfx which is unfortunately above your budget..

Xingg said POD xt live sounds digital but godspeen said it sound more analog...
so which is which?

and oh what ya mean sounding analog and digital?

multi FX i want to check out now:
Korg AX3000
BOSS ME-50
ZOOM g2

distortion/overdrive:
Boss ds-1
Boss sd-1
OM Labs sahasrara overdrive
Boss MT-2

Anyone want to say bad things about these? haha
and oh is danelectro a 'good' brand?

Check out the Zoom G2.1 instead of the G2... Much more worth it!

All multi effects units are capable of sounding "digital". Some are capable of being tweaked to sound "analog". PoD XT Live can sound analogish enough with the right settings. But most presets have that "digital" sound so you will have to set your own patches.

heh, techno aint so bad mah

mostly when anyone mentioned analog, its mainly to do with boost, overdrive, distortion etc. Pedals that let you sound upfront, angsty, angry, pissed off, kill mother, kill father type.

digital mainly to do with modulation effect. Analog is possible too, but usully they cost more and a selling point for manufacturer to make you pay for more due to the novelty of analog

both have it own usage and the context to use it. A large part of the gear is depending on how, where the user aka the living person is using it.

The above just a general idea of the 2 words in effect pedal mode. For more accurate definition, then you gotta go insearch of electronic engineering site and read on the differences. Those are more technically correct than what some of us guitar playing people believe in, from guitaring point of view
