I would safely say that that a Tonebone Hot British would be the best bet for marshall tones (imo). Just picked one up at a nice price and at low/bedroom levels, is pushing some good JCM800-ish tones, and would probably react nicely with your clean setup. And a tubescreamer-ish pedal for the Wonderful Tonight tones.

Rediculous pricing when I read from HC that Guitar Center in US selling a BM for like US$19.99. Even if you were to buy from Ebay from US, it would still be less than SGD$120.

What amp u play it thru? JCM 800 is a lighter od as compare to the jcm 900 n jcm 2000. Is the tonebone also lite crunch or it can handle so wicked brit dirt?

I heard that Nady also has a tube od thats identical to tonebone for much cheaper, but made in china. I dont think its a copy cuz its produed 20-30 yrs ago, n recently been reproducing them

I play through a Laney LC-15R, Vox-ish vibe to it. Warm it up using a Hughes and Kettner Tubefactor, and I imagine a Bad Monkey should so the same thing to it. I only run it at half gain and it already has classic marshall chunk. I wouldn't call the JCM800 of lighter OD than the 900 or 2000 series, it can still put out some wicked high gain tones, but also with a different voicing, more 'ballsy' as some like to put it, definitely can do ACDC. The Nady is the same as the Classic, not the Hot Brit.

a bad monkey is $SGD94 after discount at sweelee... u can check their website.

i haven't tried enough of my bad monkey yet. alone it's a VERY good overdrive. so far i've tried it as a overdrive with my zoom hyper lead boosting it instead... the solos have a bit more sparkle.

still undecided as whether it'll make my setup because while there is improvement, it is currently slightly marginal. i need to sit down and work on both pedals together.

can anyone post clips of the tone bone hot british?

i really love the sound of the barber od pedals... tried one at malcom's house.... nice smooth od man. yet doesnt muffle pick attack. shiok.
