Guitar Tablature Editing Software

Hi pple,

I've always wanted to tab my own guitar scores, but I faced a problem such that all the tab-editing software dat I know of did not support Chinese language, specifically on the song title and lyrics. Can I have some recommendations on which software to use if you know any? Thanks a mil! :)

The current one I have is Guitar Pro v5.2. Despite being able to support the Chinese interface, it doesn't support the input of Chinese song titles and lyrics. Haiz~... :(

I tried leh. But on Finale Note something (not installed on this comp now, so I can't refer)....its very difficult to get the chinese words "settled down". lol....

I use finale NotePad too - wrote music to a chinese song written by somebody. Got all the lyrics, titles, etc in Chinese. Then printed into a pdf format. All done without problems.

Oh, got a question on Finale Notepad. How do I do just the treble clef line like the fake book? If at the beginning I choose piano or keyboard, it will give me the bass clef as well. So, I always choose flute to give me the treble line only. But then the word flute will appear. How to get rid of it?

Thanks for the recommendation, i've downloaded Finale, but I still cant type the title and lyrics n Chinese.. haiz.. :(

Cheez: Finale Notepad? means there is a Finale program on notepad? How is it different from the main Finale program? Can teach me? Paiseh.. Hee.. :P

Are there other recommendations as well? Thanks a mil if there are still more.. :D

pf, don't think it can be done on the Notepad. You may have to upgrade to the paid version.

Sttan82, where did you download Finale? The only official version for download is called Finale Notepad, which is a free version from Sibelius. Other versions of Finale needs you to pay. If you've somehow downloaded a pirated copy, I don't think I can provide any support.

But I'm definitely able to type the lyrics and the title (and add any other text like composers name) in Chinese in Finale Notepad.

oh.. i've just downloaded Finale Notepad. But it still displays "??" when i try to type in chinese.

Is it becoz of the chinese program that I use? Im using the MS Global IME from microsoft, simplified chinese.. or shld i change any encoding? :)

thanks so far, pple.. :)

That's wierd. I use Chinese Star, but Microsoft should work as well. Try the Chinese input from Microsoft Windows instead of Global IME. Go into control panel - regional and language options - languages (click details) - under settings, click "add" - select your input language (should be Chinese PRC). I'm not sure if this is the same as the MS Global IME.
