Hi.

This is my 1st post (still at work) so just got registered n w/o proper introduction, i hope some Lao Jiao can help.
Please forgive me.
Dear Mod, you can move this thread if you think that it's better somewhere else.

As above, I had
1 HB (neck) with only hot n grounding wire,
2 500k A&B pot &
1 1/4" jack out.

How do i proceed to ground the guitar if i'm using a metal pickguard or a metal body guitar?
Can I just gfround like normal?

Your advice is greatly appreciated.

haha, the easiest way, ground the whole oil can to the -ve/ground point on the output jack. Either copper tape wire to can and solder the other end to the output jack or drill a screw with a wire on one end to the can and the other end of cable solder to the output jack -ve. If not copper tape, air con aluminium duct tape also can work cos its conductible and easily found in home fix shop or hardware shop.

Thus, whatever things thats metal and conductible(test with multimeter set to continuity setting) as long touches the can, will be connected to ground electrically

Thanks for the advice, but I'd use both multi core n some single remaining (too short so I joint them). Those copper tapes n alu tapes are both 'bare'. I'd got it wired already, tested n it's ok. not sure if this is true...

BTW, anybody knows where to get used 4L or 5L (1 gallon) metal engine oil can?

Those printed with Shell, Caltex, Pennzoil, etc and with twist cap is what I need.

Thanks in advance for the reply.
