Gr3y Custom Goodness Les Paul (Purple Haze)

edder : Yeah.. RJ London are good paint... provided you know how to use.. i spoilt so many guitars with that paint.. i even started to blame that paint lousy and such.. now i realized it's the technique and experience.. haha :D

kerplunk182 : Purple is good! But my next guitar will not be a purple.. damn i'm left with a can of metallic purple paint that's 3/4 full!

ah.. there are too many ppl tt's trying to pm me on paint job tutorials.. sometimes some things just can't say out like that huh? argh..

Anyway i seriously cant have that enough time to post tutorials here.. i've figured out that most of what i've learn are from http://www.projectguitar.com/tut/tutorial5.htm .I've also figured out that you guys are smart enough to absorb info from there, infact even better then i could :D

FAQ:
Where do you spray you guitar?

I spray them at my corridor like many other ppl here. Spraying also depends on the weather. If you see a great sky with least clouds, warm air and windy. That's the best condition for spraying here in singapore. That is if you have the patience to wait for that kinda day every time you spray.. if not.. as long as it's not raining, not in the middle of the night where the moisture level is high, i think it's alrite..

Where you dry your paint job?

I hang my guitar with hooks by my window.. so during the day time, the sunshine will fall onto it. I did not really bother about if the room is well ventilated or not because as long as no dust particles falls onto it, it's good enough for a hobby paint job.

Do i need a primer?

Yes. Base coats, Sealers, Primers.. these are the very important thing you need to do if you wish to get a candy finish guitar. Base coats are used to project your guitar's colour to be more vibrant. Sealers are to seal up all possible pores and get a smooth flat surface for best final results. Primer is the paint that will allow your paint and the material to stick well with each other, more importantly for pedals in this case.

But as long as you've got a decent flat surface + painting using multiple thin coat method, the paint should stick there alrite.

Can i paint my classical guitar?

Holy shit, best if you drop that idea! Well unless it's a tgm or zen.. Any acoustic that is coated with colouring will most prob drop the sound quality of the instrument drastically. Unless you are using stain or thin colouring like water colour, the only thing i'll recomend is thin clear coating.. Yes, country boys do have their guitars painted with horses and farms, rockers have flashy colours on their acoustic, there is a white martin guitar tt sounds good, so on n so forth.. they have a reason and method of how they are built.. but for general advise.. nono..

Check this vid too! (i only use a face mask to keep myself safe.. haha)

To all who are keen in learning the art of paint job, i urge you not to give up..let it fail over and over and you'll see the light of painting 1 fine day~ i can't tell you a 100% bullet-proof method and there are loads of "secret formulas" out there for you to adopt!

its funny in some ways, even thou its shud be serious. But since iam usually a seriously not serious person, i think you rocksss, for the effort to do something like that.

haha, i like the fatness/slight curvy outline of the stars. It soften up the image and gave it a child like feel to it
