I have the low output set so they obviously aren't the best for the heavy stuff but they don't suck la. I swapped my middle pickup out but if all 3 are stock, position 2 and 4 are hum cancelling.

The noise level is good for non hum cancelling single coils, I don't have a problem with em on high gain unless you're doing something really extreme haha.

Which set are you interested in btw? I'm not sure if theres a noiseless single coil set.. Mine is the vintage set, probably the one with the lowest output in the series.

I think I'm more leaning in the GCS -2 (?) the hotter set... for $90? That's a no brainer dude! So I'm getting stoked about it... This January will surely be a comeback for me. :)

Reason why I need a hum/ noise cancelling due to the location that I play that has bad RFs... makes me wanna kick my amp when playing on singles. :P

another thing u can do to reduce the hum if u're playing non hum-cancelling SCs is shield ur the inside of ur guitar. this will further reduce the noise. if not u can just buy humcancelling SCs. SD and DiMarzio sell them. cheaper ones would be tesla, but those are rails haha

Yeah, the price is what drew me to those pickups. If not it would have been stan hinesleys haha. I just checked, I have the GVS-1.

There isn't any pickups that are hum cancelling from that line man. You probably will have yo bear with the noise when you play haha. If you got extra cash you can try the david gilmour set, those are probably hum-cancelling if not I don't know how it can withstand a pink floyd light show.. They are active tho.

If you really want authentic, single coilish hum cancelling pickups the Dimarzio Areas are the best I've tried. And I've tried everything from the Duncan Classic Stacks, Kinnmans and the fabled Bill Lawrence L200s...The Dimarzios just take the cake. Even the Fender noiseless misses the mark a little.

I have had them on my HSS strat for coming to 2 years already, wouldnt swap them out for anything else. Too bad Stan Hinesley doesent make hum cancelling singles! My strat's setup Dimarzio Area 61(neck)> Area 67(middle)> Stan Hinesley Hellion (bridge)

lol it seems this thread has been severely hijacked, i was wondering how single coils came into the picture when the thread starter's asking pickup recommendations for his lp copy
