Hi, I'm kinda a newbie here... Yeah, so I'm wondering wad amp is good for metal/deathcore types of music... Mainly using it for practice and maybe small gigs... Errr... I've heard that the Line 6 Spider III 30 is a good choice; but also heard that it doesn't take pedals well... As I'm also gonna get a BOSS MT-2 and wanna use it with the amp... Ermm... Is Marshalls or Peaveys any good>>?? *Besides having a well-known brand name:cool:*... Ermm.. I have a budget though... Looking from 15 watts to 30 watts only... So any recommendations? Anyway, Thanks :D *Sry fr all the trouble!*

These threads are really popular these days!

I'd suggest the Roland Cubes. Go try em at sweelee. Hearing with your own ears is teh most important.

Marshall & Peavey possess that signature tone many players would desire to have, this is the reason why its name became well-known.

for a great distortion tone + above-average cleans & keeping it all under $300, i'd personally recommend this amp (assuming you don't need pedals to supplement your tone):

Hmmm... besides the Roland Cube... Ermm... any other good ones... But is the Line 6 Spider III 30; err... pedal friendly as in if I were to use a BOSS Pedal with it will it have any side effects or such? And is the Marshall MG30DFX good for metal tones? as in with a pedal? Thanks :D

Seriously, we should just have an official amp thread stickied since nobody wants to use the search function when the answers are obviously there.

lol. Regarding the Line 6 spider III 30. No problem using it with pedals la (though work better through tube amps) it wound not have side efx or spoil or wad. I use A boss MT2 through a line 6 for my distortion and it sounds great.

no, pedals unlike some medicine, don't give you side effects. hahah
what do you mean by side effects?

try searching for "good metal amp" in the soft search engine. there's been many threads on good amps for various genres, but the most common would have to be metal

Yeah... Thnks man! I think I would get a Roland Cube 30X or 20X thn... I'm manly using it for practice and simple recording... Ermm... So the delay, reverb and chorus would be a real hand for me as I dun really wanna hav a reverb or chorus pedal... :D Anyway, is there any other place besides SweeLee where I can either these two amps cheaply? Thnks!

People who create this threads always seem intent on buying something already and just want people to support their decision, rather than actually asking for advice. As shown by the way TS completely ignored Subversion's suggestion.

I tried the ENGL at blackwood. Dint like it at all, tone was rather thin and lacked sustain. Even Norman commented on that. The amp was good for modern stuff - gain was tight and chuggy but there's a certain lifeless sterility about it.

Diezel or Framus.....Well thats a different story though. I assume we'r staying within the context of German manufacturers.

You didn't like the ENGL? The sound imo is incredibly tight, but can get rather thin and dry (the complete opposite of Rectos) sometimes. The one at Blackwood is a Fireball right? I feel the word sterile applies to Diezels. They seem to sound solid-state to me, not exactly the kind of character I was expecting from a top-of-the-line tube amp.

Oh and speaking of German manufacturers..
