I just watched the video of this poor lady getting molested.
She looked tipsy and from the way the guys threw themselves on her, it didn't look like she had enough strength to ward them off.
I see several problems in this disturbing case.
1. Scantily clad bikini + tipsy girl would inevitably invite pervs (she should have seen it coming).
2. To female forumers here - prior to this case, even if u haven't heard of molest cases in clubs or parties or experienced one yourself, it doesn't mean it won't happen to you (if you choose to put yourself in the same shoe as this poor lady).
3. I thought watching and not helping is bad enough; watching and taping it down is pure despicable.
4. Whatever happened to her friends? Where are they when it happened? Somewhere in the crowd taping/photographing?

1. Girl got tipsy, began doing seductive poses/gestures
2. Those 4 horny indians got on stage and began groping.
3. Girl was ok with it initially till the guy didn't wanna let go.
4. She tried to break free but the guy didn't wanna let her go.
5. Ppl from below tried to pull her bra down.
6. She finally got away

i saw the video.
as sure as most people are that the men are indians (or banglas), i am sure that the girl is thai. whether bapok or not i dunno, but i dont believe so.
the only problem i have with it is that its done in the open. the rest is only a problem depending on your perception and more importantly, your prejudice.
consider that the same incident would have been less outrageous if the girl was a thai prostitute than if she was a local chinese. that is prejudice, possibly specifically racial prejudice.
also consider that the same incident would not have caused any alarm had it occured in a bar in orchard towers than if it happened at a party in siloso beach. that is prejudice. like i said, my only issue is with the venue, not with the actions.
finally i read the article in ST online where comments are shown (which were poorly moderated). the fact that the men are indian drew special attention and generalisations. this could possibly not been the case if the men were chinese. nobody is going to make generalisations about chinese people, unless they are from china. this is reality. and in reality, racism exists. although our society does not condone racism, we are in no obligation to deny that it exists (which would do more harm than good).
i believe singaporeans are not aware of their own prejudice. hence, this whole affair, including the people involved as well as the reactions to which, is a potential banana skin where many people could embarrass themselves without being aware of it.
i also do not believe that the media should be going around, digging dirt and splashing it in local media. if that is their purpose, there would be no end to it.
strong reactions, whether negative or positive, would ultimately glorify the incident. this is not what this incident deserves.
ps- if you want to see the thing for yourself, you can go to a certain website that is named after a longkang. in one of the hi-res NSFW screenshots you can see the girl smiling while baring it.

To be honest, i know some of u would disagree, women/girls are more vulnerable and prone to any mishaps and incidents as this. I mean think about it, women go countdown partying and get drunk, wearing skimpy outfits.. u will sure be 'nailed' by someone and the next thing u noe u woke up, wearing just the top of the bikini or in some hotels' bed. I mean u really gotta be careful man. U maybe a virgin or something but if u walk into this kinda leisurely partying and getting drunk u might be walking away without ur priceless virginity. Man, if everybody gets drunk this is what happens. U get advantage of. Now i think thats she's sorry. What a pity.
