hey guys... i'm helping my friend post this ya.... he wants to get a guitar n is torn between a Gibson les paul classic, Gibson sg supreme or a RGA 321.... pls recommend one to him.... thanx :)

Dude, get the three guitars around you, Close your eyes, spin around 3 times, open your eyes. Pick that one. No fair taking the ones beside it.

RGA321...but tt cost a bomb man! maybe can try certain esp vipers...very similiar to gibson sg but unfinished necks...

go epiphone lah. much cheaper than the gibsons.

More worth it in my opinion.

I own an Epi, and it plays about as well as any Gib i've tried. Change pickups, and you got yourself an excellent guitar.

Sure, the branding isnt there... but shit man, who cares about branding. Playability and tone is paramount.

I really don't get how Gibson justifies their $6,000 price tag. My 2 cents.

I guess for Gibs, Fenders and stuff their name is what sells for such a price. I thikn if they print their name on a worthless guitar, It'll sell for thousands too.

gibsons, I was once in Yamaha guitar class, this dude just started. NExt week he came in with a hardcase. Some vintage les paul guitar. costing 8k. sonofa...

bACK to topic, well yeah gibsons are the most ex i've ever seen but i guess fender isn't as bad as gibs. Look on the bright side, Gibson made epiphones... just incase their expensive models don't sell, people buy their cheaper lookalikes..

wow. Now I'm even more confused. Gibson LP not $6000. haha i can get it at half the price since i live in the states now. Gibson LP is abt USD$1,900. Same for SG Supreme. Ibanez RGA 321 is USD$1500. But for the LP, is the 19th-22th frets area easy to access? Cuz i need somethin that's really playable in that area.

Certain models are. I've seen them and I can't believe my eyes. List price, anyway. Take twenty to thirty percent off as "discount", blah blah blah...

Tackling your problem on playability, Though I dont own a Les Paul, I've tried some, and the access to the upper registers is pretty decent, if not flying v wonderful. Lol. It'll do fine.

What are you guy's opinion on the flying V. I personally find it hard to play cos you cant sit with it. Lol.

Yesh, I'd agree with the part on 'accessibility' on a Flying V

*LOL* I 'clamp' it with between my legs if I do sit down and play  But I don't usually use my Flying V for home practice/writing songs, etc...more for jamming and ideal for performances :supz: *lol*
