gibson guitar suck???

yes and my few gibsons , sound good . do you have a few too? and i dont think they're that expensive either if you know where to get em

Nope, never. Les Pauls were never my thing so I never bothered to look them up or check them out. Was just asking/checking/clarifying.

Good for you then, carry on to buy more Gibsons - at least they retain their value, which is great for resale or investment.

thats everything i wanted to say . +1 to that bro .

i think gibbys are still better than a lot a lot of guitars out there, even when you consider the lemons. Of course they won't ever be as meticulous as say PRS or customs, but it's still a gibson no?

and you're really buying the brand name anw.

Precisely. Its the brand name that makes Gibsons so expensive.

I've seen them before, no doubt they look like they're of excellent quality, but that are mass-produced so the $6K just isn't worth it. I've seen LTDs and ESPs and I liked them, but heard stories of LTDs having poor construction.

Take note, its all stories of experiences. They played maybe a few LTD pieces, but not every single LTD that comes out from the factory, therefore this debate (nicer word to use, as opposed to quarrel) was really a waste of time from the beginning. No offence, folks. Just speaking my mind...

So yeah, let's close this case. I'm glad over here we are good to each other. I've seen much worse in other forums. :)

Cheers!

Hmm 6 K Gibsons are for their custom shops lah.. I have no issues with them.. Have owned 2... sold 1.... They are excellent guitars...

The standards, Classics, Studios and Specials should be about 3k and below...

Seriously whatever brand of guitar you buy.. the most important thing is how it speaks to you.. so if you be liking it.. it's worth it..

Met a young chap who proclaimed he wanted a Gibson... his mind was set on a Gibson... "nothing plays or sounds like a Gibson"...

And he was trying to match a Gibson LP to his budget...

He also mentioned - No Edwards, No Collings (!), No Heritage, nada... only a Gibson will do.

I marvel at the marketing prowess of Gibson!

a guitar's worthiness isn't tagged to its construction philosophy... mass produced = should not exceed a certain price tag?

I find 6K more worth it if its a custom with your own specifications...

Gibson LP standards are only $3K? SGD or US...

Well if you do a lil shopping around at the right time and right places you can easily get a Standard for about SGD3.2 to 3.5k? I've seen a couple around... And if you are talking about getting it from the states SGD 3k should be able to do it... provided you have someone bring the guitar back for you lah.. Heh...

i dunno if a LP standard is worth the money - i think the best bet is STUDIO LP. I'm saving for that of course. Haha.

Swee lee carries the new BFG thing it's only $1.5k and looks pretty solid to me, gorgeous top, P-90 included and no frills neck? i think it's quite badass for that price. Anyone has it?

Yeah my friend said that about FENDER. Which I suppose isnt really true because lots of stuff sound like gibson standards or anything in that range isnt it? I mean i've no cash to get them, but i heard from many people the 1970s burny models with VH-1 sound EXACTLY the same.

Oh yeah and if anyone has the VH-1 PICKUP please please PLEASE PM me if you wanna sell... my friend can't even get it IN JAPAN! =(

Aiya just order every single part from warmoth or some guitar parts store and constuct you own "signature" guitar to every single specific specification.

Get a good quality Gibson, Fender what ever brand you like best or think people like best, and paste it on your "siggy" guitar. There you have it. A "Gibson" (Fender etc wadever), MY genuine "custom"... ..."Gibson" Yeah eat that biatch n00bzorxzxz!@#$

-_-"

You've got a very good point... No more mojo. Dang! In this world, its all about mojo mee, the more the merrier, dun haf, f off! Mmm!

Gibson the logo itself has 100 mojo...

Met a decent chap at Ebenex a few days ago , he teaches guitar so he knows his stuff . His mind was pretty made up on DIY guitars but mine was fixed on getting a Gibson les paul custom . To a certain extent i agree that Gibsons marketing has something to do with this but over and above i just cant resist the curves and tone that rock and roll machine emits . Furthermore i did say that my mind was made up and was not willing to consider any other brands because there is nothing like owning a genuine piece . Its not cheap at all and neither do i have the resources to pull together six thousand dollars ... yet . Still that is not going to be a factor when i buy my next guitar , because i know what i want and i don't need to fit the guitar to my budget cause i can always get a cheaper les paul or go all the way with a thirteen thousand dollar Slash les paul custom , shredcow i just want you to know that cost is not a factor , it just determines how long i have to work to pay it off . Which is in this case about 4 months for a regular custom but totally worth it .
