Getting my first pedals, need some advice!

Haha yeah but i chose the ibanez tubecreamer over it probably because it had that dual function thing. But i think the bad monkey is not bad too, getting a 2nd hand one should be quite reasonable.

Hi guys, I finally got my TOD and Fuzz yesterday, both v1! Thanks for all your kind advice and offers, really appreciate it. Now that I've got them, I guess I'll be satisfied for quite a while. :D

Was wondering though, how long do the batteries usually last? Is it actually more worthwhile to get a power supply, and how do I get about doing it, what do I need to buy, where from, how much will it cost, etc.

Thanks a lot for your time!

oh no, i'm too late. You should have gotten the cool cat distortion. Suprisingly good. doesn't sound overly trebly or thin. on the contrary, it Sounds quite warm and thick!
And yes, it is more worth while to get a power supply. A simple 9v adapter with a 5 head daisy chain should suit your needs. Got mine at sound alchemy for about $15 i think.

Good choices :) Yes, you should get a power supply. Godlyke or Visual Sound OneSpot make adapters with higher output so you can power many pedals with a daisy chain. But any simple Boss style adapter with more than 200mA will be enough for your two pedals. Look around Sound Alchemy, SV, G77, or TYMC.

Thanks guys. I guess I will go down to Penin again. Most pedals use 9v?
I'm thinking of getting the CC chorus and distortion too, but will having 3 dirt pedals be an overkill? =X

Nah 3 dirt pedals are fine. Set one for boost, one as overdrive, one as distortion. At least thats what i do.

Sorry for the late reply, have been away. What difference does the current reading make? And I read about positive or negative heads?
Or maybe I should stop being lazy and just go down and ask the person to recommend me one that suits the pedals I have.
Thanks guys. :)

Most pedals use 2.1mm center-negative plugs at 9v, e.g. all the common brands Boss, Digitech, MXR etc. Some brands of pedals use center-positive or different voltages so you have to be careful.

More current means you can power more pedals, that's all.

Hey guys, I finally got the adapter with a 8-head daisy chain for $32 in total, is it a reasonable price? I walked around penin and saw others at around $50, and I thought I should just get the cheapest one, will this affect my sound?

And I'm gonna make my own IKEA GORM pedal board! Haha. Where should I get those strong velcro? Homefix? Or any normal velcro will do?

Oh no, it seems that I keep having new questions for you guys.. Sorry about that! Haha
Thanks alot! :)

Ahh, thanks for that helpful site. I guess I'm not in a hurry to get any velcro now, since I pretty much just play in my bedroom.
