Pickups wise I've used Artec Giovanni custom alnico 5 set. And a .0022uf orange capacitor

yep. its a barn buster, made with pine from 1853 that i just received this afternoon.
very very well made guitar. surprisingly loud and crisp when played unamped.
no chance to plug it in though, if you notice someone behind the sofa.

Yours has 3 way or 4 way switching ?

i chose 3-way.
yeah his set up is very low. a lot of ron's customer highlighted that. but it seems he only ships with that kind of setup. i raised mine a bit. did you choose a different pickup or his own wound??
ron also prefers pine as what you have. he said its more gnarly.
am sure ou will enjoy that guitar

Mine was indeed set way too low as well. Just send it for a set up or do it yourself.
I follow some of Ron's instruction to let the guitar acclimatise to local weather for about 2 weeks. Then I strung up a fresh set of strings and readjust everything from intonation to action. The guitar plays incredible now.
