chances are, it's not rust, just discolouration. happens to mine as well.

some new stuff @ Swee Lee:

50th Anniversary Std Strat (Mex). List: $2,100
thought this one was never gonna make it here. played it, love everything about the guitar (the anodized gold pickguard is ultra cool) but the bridge pickup could have been better.

hey sub (or anyone else who might know)

i saw that 50th anniversary strat in swee lee... but i'm wondering if the recently launched 60th anniversary strat below will make it here as well? (or is it here already)

me thinks most likely would

btw sub, to add on to the query. i understand that fender is offering for the 60th anniversary series

american standard strat , tele , precision and jazz bass

and also the 60th anniversary standard precision bass ( mexican )

whats the difference from the regular versions ?

60th Anniversary fenders- nothing really special, just commemorative. if you notice, the 60th models (American) are rosewood fretboard equipped- that's about as 'special' as it gets, as the 60s saw many fender units sporting these (but we know there are fenders which went the rosewood way even before the '60s kick in...) instead of an all maple neck affair.

the gold 50th Ann version (Standard models) are produced at the last quarter of the 50th Anniversary year to cater to demands for one which more affordable. tone-wise, the 50th Ann Std is rather bland, notably due to the mex single coils in there, thay fare better clean than overdriven (especially the bridge unit).

the 60th anniversary strat has Tex-Mex coils in there.

i've no experience with those pickups, but reviews mention that they are hotter than standard mex pickups and have more twang going too.

seems that fenders had a upgrade in all standards models. what the difference between before the upgrade and after the upgrade? anyway if we will to get them from sweelee, can we request for the latest version? I always tend to get old stock (like 2003 instead of 2005, there are some differences in hardware and maybe ins ome cases different kind of wood)from sweelee main branch
