Gear News 2006

Maybe they realised they can't win lawsuits on companies that make Gibson lookalikes.

So if you can beat em, join em.

Though the last time they made strats they failed quite horribly.

Check out Line6's innovation on their ToneCore pedals. Make a guess before you visit the link:

Very interesting development with the Tone Dock.... but... unless it's much cheaper than getting the ToneCore equivalent, i dont see the point

problem is... lets say you get one Tone Dock, then you buy a few modules for the price of less than one regular ToneCore pedal (just supposing the modules are really really affordable)

now, you'd realise that you can't use all the modules simultaneously in your signal chain - unless you buy a ToneDock for each module! Which ends up to be the same as buying the regular ToneCore pedal for each effect :?

The harmony-central forums have been discussing them a bit. Apparently there are some hidden features in some of the mono effects, that can be unlocked when put into a stereo dock.

Reminds me of putting catridges into my nintendo and pressing up up down down left left right right b a a b select start before the game loads.

I can see their next product coming out. Mega tone docks with 5-10 slots. Then you can just get the catridges and place them where you want.

I'd bet Behringer or some other company will come up with 3rd party catridges too. Maybe can go Malaysia buy pirated Line 6 catridges for 10bucks each

theblueark, that's a good one, i guess this could be in the future of their development.

A multiple-module ToneDock will make it possible for the modules to be used simultaneously. The good thing about this is that, if you own all the modules, and you don't need every module for a gig, then, a 5 or 6 dock will be suitable. Still, it sounds cheaper than to buy all individual ToneCore pedals.

Let's hope the modules will be cheaper, say 50% less? e.g. if an EchoPark cost $200, then, its module cost $100.

ToneCore® Docks
All of the ToneCore® modules can be placed in either mono or stereo ToneDock stompboxes.

I find this funny, if i can put a UberMetal module into a stereo ToneDock to have a mono in & out, then, I will obviously buy the stereo ToneDock, since i can also put in a stereo module in the future. So, why invent the mono ToneDock? Making it cheaper than the stereo ToneDock?
