Anyone has or tried the Ibanez Roadstar RS/RG 440? the 1 with the Edge floyd rose bridge, any opinions of it? Its an old school guitar, made in the 80s

i had a Roadstar II series before. the body thin and the necks are pretty small as well... probably a shredding guitar.

unfortunately i didn't like the harsh output of the stock pickups and it felt TOO light to me. it's much lighter than my strat, which makes it feel kinda like a toy when i sling it over my shoulders.

you could feel differently thou - i'm so much a strat lover now that i've tried many guitars. it's just something about that signature twang and feel... 8)

icic, I would loce a strat too but $$$ and I dont see any lefty strats in singapore. What abt bridge? any comments on it? the pups dun really matter to me as I will be changing them

the RS bridge is known as the Pro-Rocker bridge, unless the one you saw was replaced by something else.

yep that's the roadstar ii series.

this is the one i had, now in the possession of a very happy owner (i believe) . :D

if u're thinking it would sound like a strat - i'm sorry but i'll have to disappoint you. the RS and RS II do sound different, and the RS II sounds much more like a shred manifestation. The strat twang pales in comparision, but i highly doubt the RS II was made to do that - it's really a straight out rock guitar in its own right. :)

Yea thats what Im looking for haha. Haha anyway, whats your opinion on the edge bridge, the last bit I need to know

The Ibanez Edge bridge is one of the best licensed floyd rose trems out there. Better than the OFR in terms of QC, feel and overall quality.

Satriani still prefers the Edge vibrato, even on his current guitars...

why do single pickups tilt other way on RG440??

the logic here is that it'll compensate for the inherent heavier bass sounds on the neck, and sometimes on the bridge.

pretty old school of thought.. think one which never caught on. I think the only tilts u see nowadays are mostly found on strats, the bridge pickup (tilted the other way though.)

Hello strat-maniacs
other than fender, any other brand/s of strat (or strat-copy, whichever way u prefer to call) worth buying? any recommendations? (3 single-coils config only)

fender headstock too boring, anyway i already got one. I'm looking for another strat, non-fender. trying to look more unique hehe...

thanks!

Parker Guitars.

Unfortunately even their Korean made models are way expensive here.
