GAS attacks... should I succumb?

I just tried the Orange tiny terror and I like the sound I'm getting at low levels. Seems like the perfect bedroom amp. There's a draw back in the sense that I need speaker cabs to go along with it. Moreover I'm currently using a cube 30x which I find quite versatile but tonewise can't be compared to the tiny terror.

Where can I get 2x12 cabs and what are recommended? It would be good if estimated price could be provided.

Since this is my first tube amp, how is maintaining it like? Does it need to be bias to change tubes? Can this be done by myself? What's the frequency of maintenance?

Should I succumb to GAS or be satisfied with what I have and move on... haiz...

I couldn't find that around yet. Bro Sub any idea what's the cost of a 2x12 orange cab and whether yamaha has it? I was thinking of changing from a cube 30x but then the upgrade would make me guilty of spending too much on gear. For a budget of 1.5K, what do you recommend?

Satisfy your GAS by buying 2nd hand stuff. Get them at reasonable 2nd hand prices so you can recover the $$$ you spend when you resell them.

If there is no 2nd hand tiny terror on sale now, maybe you could divert your GAS urge to other good 2nd hand amps available.

Quite true... but after testing the tiny terror, I was too amazed by how nice it sounded with just so little knobs. For now, I'm thinking of getting the tiny terror due to low wattage needs. The gain can go from nice warm blues to certain metal music needs.

Is it possible to use the tiny terror with a roland cube 30x as a speaker instead of getting a speaker cab for the moment?

of course you can't 8-) if you read that link closely (the comments), the combo version isn't here yet...

if you can wait, i suggest you should. 2x12 speaker cabs aren't easy to come by, can't remember if there's any @ Yamaha. there are VOX 2x12 cabs which would go for a bargain during a SALE period. i believe they were snapped up during the last SALE event.

alternatively, you can make do with a 1x12 version by Blackheart/ Epiphone.

DO IT BUY IT SUCCUMB TO GAS, LIFE IS SHORT

on the side note, i have a lopoline 2x12 for sale loaded with kickass eminence speakers. pm me for info.

you can contact orangeguitar.com for the 2X12 cab.or you can get a marshall cab from davis.its less than 1k.orangeguitar sells the 2x12 for about $900

Wow..Looking at how much these cabs are selling, I think I really have a steal buying my Mesa combo..

Combos were meant to be cost effective and cheaper I guess. But cab and head makes it flexible for future changes and modification. I need to formulate a budget plan man. haha... any idea how much the tiny terror retails at orange guitar? Also will 4x12 be overkill for home usage? Volume is determined by the amp head and not the cab right?

Doesn't matter if its 4x12 or not.. Volume matters on the wattage of the head..
But for home usage, I think 2x12 is more than enough.. And you definitely wouldn't need a high wattage amp, especially tube ones (eg.100W)..

While trying the tiny terror out, I think that it has plenty of volume for its size and it sound good on low volumes. Is this the same for the orange 30 watt tube amp? Will it be too loud to use at home? hmmm... or is 30 watts too loud?
