a shot of the glorious, fat "U" baseball bat neck, best feature on this guitar..enjoy!

That should be the Fender Japan's Richie Kotzen Signature Tele, unless they are offering some really souped up model now

correct..it's a TLR-145RK..hardly a display set haha, got it used..there are very very minor scratches and dings that you probably can't see..otherwise, in very good cond..

I haven't gotten round to taking a group shot yet, but here goes:

  • Fender Vintage Hotrod 1957 Reissue 2 Tone Sunburst
Fender Vintage Hotrod 1957 Reissue Black
Fender American Vintage 1962 Reissue Surf Green
Fender Japan Craft Premium 1968 Reissue Vintage White
Ibanez RG1077XL 7 String Baritone Royal Blue
ErnieBall MusicMan John Petrucci 6 String Mystic Dream with Piezo

jem007: Nice tele. It is just screaming richie kotzen! Where did you get it? Ishibashi? That's the only place i saw selling that model. Think they discontinued the signature MIA models right?

leecs: er... nope? :P  I only want to own ONE 6 string super strat at this point, and since it happens to be a JP6, then what better than the signature Mystic Dream? Heheheh...

Did you get the full option version?

bro, just jokin la. i don have full options. only matching headstock. Seems like yours is a later version with D-sonic pickups. I bought mine on 2005.

Hey Whitestrat, were you the guy from the EBMM forums that were asking about the cables and stuff?

leecs: er... nope? Razz Laughing I only want to own ONE 6 string super strat at this point, and since it happens to be a JP6, then what better than the signature Mystic Dream? Heheheh...
What better you say? Three words: B.F.R. :D

yeah... thats me...

BFR? not for me. Tonally no different, and I just love that groovy cutaway, which the BFRs don't have. Furthermore, I don't like my guitars too pretty. The mystic dream is a wild finish. you got to see one up close to really appreciate it. photos can't deliver the funkiness...

Did you try the BFRs at GC?

Heard from Jeffrey that the BFR sounded significantly brighter than the original JP... And the note definition is much clearer too...

GC? Where's that? I saw one in Tokyo. Tried it. Didn't really feel that compelled to choose that over this. What I REALLY almost took was the Japan only black version with gold hardware...

Have you tried this cutaway?

P.S. The BFRs are much more expensive, and aren't limited for the JPs. I think the better one to look forward to would be the neck-thrus coming...

kank_39: yes got it from ishibashi..don't think he had a fender US signature..all along a japanese endorsee from ibanez to FJ..but i could be wrong..all that they've discontinued are RK's TLR-135RK in sea foam green and his sig strat, which they are currently producing again..check out fenderjapan official site..

Guitar Centre.

That's the 2006 LE. Really nice, but the gold hardware kinda put me off, I want to actually play my guitars, not keep them :)

Which cutaway? The normal ones? The BFRs' cutaway doesn't bother me at all, I've tried quite a few normal JPs, and a few friends of mine have them too, and the fatter lower horn does get in the way sometimes, while the BFR has even better upper fret access with the thinner lower horn.

Neck-trus ain't gonna happen for EBMMs. This has been debated before over there, and it isn't gonna happen for a variety of reasons. That being said, a well-designed bolt-on neck can be just as good as a neck-thru (quoted from the EBMM forums).

Although the BFR is not a limited run for the JP, the market force will decide whether it will be discontinued of not, as BP pointed out in one of his post. But then again, a JP Baritone is in the works, only available as a BFR, that adds to the possibility that the BFR is here to stay!
