Im curious to know if its another gimmick abt having tubes in ur pedal!!! I find it hard to believe a tube alone can make the pedal nicer, if the circuit is crap. Does the clipping even take place in the tube lol

Wasn't behringer the one who put leds behind their tubes (in pedals) so that the tubes "glow"?

yes they did, but they aren't the one one. currently, Rocktron's Silver Dragon also has a back-lit LED to light up its integrated pre-amp tube. this came about because players were expecting the tube to light up upon the pedal's activation but this isn't the case as the pedal is running on 12V power, unlike the power it receives in an actual amp... however, this doesn't mean that the tube in there isn't working.

tube hoax? it's up to you to try & hear if the tonal difference has something for you. in the mean time, i'm enjoying the tube swap... :supz:

Beta Aivin- Standard Value. the HM200 has much more definition/ saturation than the HM100; the reason i bought it 8)

Hmm.

-bin4christ- haha actually I'm not sure what wood the body is made up of.. it's pretty light, but not exactly feather-weight like basswood, if I'm not wrong it's some kind of rather porous, dark wood (mahogany?), but the tone coming from it isn't below average at all.

As to the neck fitting the body, unfortunately it's not a true Fender neck (it's a squier with the logo converted), and I'd be too terrified of modding a true blue Fender neck anyways. Anyway, since the original Samick body had screw holes which were not aligned to this "Fender" neck, I had to plug in the old screw holes (on the neck itself) with *gasp* shaved wooden chopsticks, and re-drill the holes according to the holes in the body.

On the whole, this strat sounds like what a strat would sound like with only one humbucker. It's bright and snappy, but with the right combination of drive pedals (Guvnor 2 into a MXR Distortion + with light dirt), I can achieve that screaming hard rock sound.
