hi guys,

here's my gear:

Image026.jpg

just got the guitar setup by http://www.customwerkz.blogspot.com
changed the pickguard and installed tesla plasma II on the bridge.
plays convincingly well on low action.
and the sound of it all is the best to my ears,... so far...... :)

More strats porn then..

Modern strat, American Deluxe with pups change to suhr v60lp (I love these pickups!) See anything missing?

62 Hot Rod Vintage Reissue. Chunky neck with nice medium jumbo frets that ask you play it more. I think Fender made this very right.

beauties riff!

your 62 AVRI Hot Rod looks almost identical to mine :D

heh cool killswitch, did u rewire the 2nd pot to be your vol knob?

KennethC, thanks man. Unfortunately that not a killer switch, i have 1 missing knob since i replaced the SCN pre-wired assembly with a new set of pickups. Swapped all the knobs over except for the S1 vol knob....now i need a vol knob :P

lol.
gonna post my gear once i get my first pedal...
i need to buy cable to connect pedal to amp... and all of u use the ones with fat connectors... where to buy those?

Riff....

How much you paid for the hot rod 62? I am contemplating between that and an Edwards SRV relic.....

How chunky is the neck of the 62?

Who has the Edwards SRV relic? any reviews on it?

Writer,
I got it during the recent SL sales, it's should be in the mid 2k-3k range. Dunno how to describe the neck but it's like a thick C shape, almost like the 52 tele neck but with a flatter 9.5" radius, satin finished, only the headstock are lacquered. And i like the (to me) suspiciously bigger than usual medium jumbo frets.

there's alot of mojo in this strat over my deluxe, not too sure about the Edwards tho.

Those new fender hot rod vintage reissues are really killer guitars. Has a really nice feeling neck and some modern upgrades. There was a red finish one that had a dimarzio tone zone s in the bridge, coupled with a set of single coils. Although some of them do suffer from finish inconsistencies, i think when you find the right one, its really worth the price.

wah the Olympic white 62 is damn chio... and yes looks like the Yuri's twin brother.

is the neck radius 7.25?
i love the vintage reissues like the 57 and 62 , but the necks and frets put me off... so i ended up buying the ... "you know.. "

all i want is a strat, with a chunky neck (ala SRV neck shape), nice single coils, vintage 6screw trem, 5 springs and i want it in - Olympic white , Daphne blue, and..Shell Pink all finished in NITRO.
wah... erected. fantasizing to the max.

the best day will be when i can pick up my strats according to colour..and know it will sound the same and play the same... WAHHhhh

Oh and for the mystery box...
its this la... i will get it in 2 mths time.. two agonizing months away from playing this...

chanmin, like that you better not buy production strats. Custom to all the same specs in each of your desired finishes.

+1

Feed your needs and wants! Don't give in to da system!

On a serious note, USACG's custom finishing has been quite consistant, not perfect, but consistantly good - so you have an open path for you there already.

yea thats why im toying with the idea of Zack's Nash guitars and USACG strat copies...

im getting the JM only cus i had such a good experience with the EJ ... and all of mayer's stuff is so goood...the incase!!! omg~~

i still play my homemade relic 70% of the time la...love the big neck.
Maybe a USACG body in Shell pink. swap the neck and dump the badly charred relic diy body .. that might work well..

nvm la.. slowly scout for usacg special deals..

right now... work hard.. practice hard. play hard.
