hey lifele55, how is it possible that you have your epi in that colour when, as far as i know, epiphone doesn't even make their lp customs in antique ivory?

just asking. its a damn sweet guitar btw

As far as I know, they don't make it in antique ivory. If you google for an epiphone antique ivory, most of the returns would be the sg custom. And those LP customs in this color are the YEC (Yamano Epiphone Custom ) Epiphone custom as shown in the links, the latter was the one where I got it from.

Haven't been to G77 but with the stocks that they have now it might be possible they took in a YEC custom in antique ivory as well.

oh cool thanks for the help. but i still don't get the whole yamano epiphone custom thing. is yamano a different kind of epiphone? Or is your lp custom just a guitar that was made at a factory, not according to epiphone specifications?

My trusty fender strat

62 reissue body
Warmoth SRV neck (stainless teel frets)
fitted with Suhr v60lps.
FenderRelic001.jpg

FenderRelic003.jpg

dragged on floor , set on fire , sanded , chipped , hammered , poked with keys, dinged, belt buckle rash .... etc.

couldnt stand the poly finish on it. wanted some personality out of the guitar so i decided to do some relicing... as you can see things got wayyy outta hand.

its ugly as hell. but playing it feels like putting a trusty old pair of jeans.
:)

OMG!!!! COOOOOOOL GUITAR!!!!!! *faps*

*looks again!*
*faps*

dammit! that's sucha cool guitar y'know...I always wanted that kinda look..kinda like Tony Iommi's SG that looks horrible..John F's Fender too..

haah the previous owner did it la...tinting, along with 20 patient coats poly.
i traded my tokai lp for this baby.

i refused to leave his place without this strat :P
it sports a real 70s bridge... which doesnt really matter. and ancient MIJ strat tuners which will be swapped out soon for better ones.

hehe chanmin shiokanathan...

eh but i thought you were going to sand down the lower part of the body to rid it of the charred stains?

and I still keep my stand...you need to relic the fingerboard and neck/headstock as well if you intend to get a full relic. =)

on the contrary the bubbly looking part is actually bits where my "attacks" went thru the sealant. when i have time i will sand the ugly parts down to bare wood...

my and my gf tried to scrape and hack off the poly.. above the pickguard
my goodness poly is tough. but burning took off the poly in seconds!! Please dont try this at home. its dangerous. the fire spreads very fast.

fingerboard and headstock relic abit heart pain le... cus the neck so chio... :P
and yes the hole at the base of the 19th fret is for truss rod adjustments.

the sound is pretty good for a sparepartocaster ... but maybe in future i may get a usacg select alder 2pc body to replace this... maybe Daphne Blue? :P
