Nope. You aint got the SG. :smt003

heh... to me, the SG is like supplementary vitamins

other 'vitamins' - Explorer, Flying V, Firebird, Jazzmaster

pretty hard to collect one of each shape... but i'll be trying.... maybe an explorer next. or perhaps my first guitar with a floating trem? or maybe i'll stick to a theme of collecting Japanese-made guitars since i have 3 MIJs now (a pity then that my MIK RG doesnt qualify) :D

an SG with P90 will be nice to complete the setup

Yeah you're right xspace, i got it at very cheap... lucky deal cos the prev owner bought it then gave up playing, and didnt think that this is actually quite a rare guitar (after all, it is just a strat copy).

well popeye... if i wanted to diversify my collection in terms of pickup combination, the list could go on... tele with humbucker at neck, tele with humbucker at bridge, tele with two humbuckers, HSS Strat, LP with P90s, LP with 3 humbuckers... etc. but i'm not going that way... fortunately :)

nice blackjack, matt

it's a pity not many ppl appreciate (or have even heard of) Schecter. never had the chance to try one myself... but i like the look and the specs

how's the neck? i know it's satin finish like Ibanez right... but not sure abt the profile

ah, i think i got neck finish confused with another model perhaps... not the blackjack series.. maybe the Deluxe line

I believe that's a neck-thru, nice guitar man congrats!

it looks like it, but its not. most of schecters' set necks with "ultra access" has a sculpted heel to make it look like a neck thru, unlike set necks on SG or Explorers.

one thing that irks be bout that "ultra acess" is the strength of the neck joint itself. A set neck guitar is already scary as it is, with just a lil bit of tenon glued into the body, and it has to bear all the weight and stresses. And so with that non-existent heel on schecter axes you'll kinda wonder how they made it work. Then again the tenon may be longer than standard set necks or something, to compensate for the lack of heel? :?

2 phaser modes available- regular/ step, the latter is very sci-fi. serious tones from this pedal, the modes on offer aren't just for variety, they are serious to say the least. for $160- worth it 8)

the chorus patches on offer are rather impressive, again 2 modes: vintage/ multi. the latter is based on Marshall's own Supervibe circuitry so the difference is there. the former is a mild offering, useful for heavily distorted tones. however, if you are looking for a lush chorus, there's nothing close to what Danelectro's Cool Cat have in store.

sub..how does the flanger sounds? can give some comments about it?

i'm actually most impressed by the flanger but it's not a modern voicing. regardless, the regen knob has a wide sweep so you go from really mild to really extreme. the other pedal capable of this offering is Ibanez's CF7 but the tone from the latter pedal is rather piercing, the RG1 has a more pleasant voicing.

flanger fans- MXR now offers the Van Halen flanger...
