hmm, by the time i got my first guitar i could already play the intros to Silent Lucidity and More Than Words pretty well. my friends taught me on theirs. first guitar was a Congress acoustic my uncle gave me. my first electric was a low end Cort i think. was into grunge and the Seattle sound back then so the worse it sounded, the better!

hmm my first guitar was a fender american highway one stratocaster . simple , nothing fancy but it kicks some serious butt . was into red hot chilli peppers

3rd amp - washburn vintage thingo from the 80's with a really cool overdrive haha

i worked or 2 months to pay off for the fender , and the Gibson was a surprise from my dad .i didnt want to start off with something crappy haha GAS

I kinda find some Squier and Epiphone pieces very crappy in terms of quality... Yet there are a few gems.

Currently saving up for a Ibanez AW series acoustic. It will be my most expensive guitar yet!

hehe...inspired by james blunt's "your beautiful" so i went to borrow my friends congress classical. meddled with the guitar and figured how to play tabs and chords by staring and understanding tabs on ultimate-guitar.Then proceeded to buy an ibanez acoustic for like 500 buck with my own cash.Kinda regretted as it dint sound that wonderful or a 500dollar git.Few months later bought a ibanez electric guit plus amp for like 600. Then proceeded to toying with pedals...then sold some of the pedals to settle for a good 65watt amp.

Actual first one was a classical from Yamaha, don't really know what model... didn't play it much since I just don't feel right holding a guitar bigger than me lol.

Then my first Electric guitar was a Yamaha EG 112C, at first thought just wanna play e. guitar coz it sounds cool so didn't really think of getting something really good, just one beginner-ish one I happy already. But after awhile I ended up wanting to play the e. guitar seriously... though still not considering to buy a good guitar until I'm confident of my skills. Don't wanna waste money already since I seldom get allowance, no work, no funds lol.

Got my first guitar after learning quite a bit of stuff and went totally serious into playing the guitar. All the guitars that i have gotten were all bought with my saved up cash.
Parents weren't really supportive. The first guitar i got was an electric guitar, it is also because of the jamming studio guitars, it really annoys me the strings are always rusty, the action is not to my comfort etc etc...
1st guitar >> Silvertone SG
2nd guitar >> Ibanez Gio (one of the SA series i think)
3rd guitar >> Ibanez RG350DX
4th guitar >> Fender Mustang

The first 3 guitars are all gone to fund me 4th =x
So now my only guitar is the mustang, and its zhnged like no one else has ever zhnged before. (P.S Refer to picture gallery 2008 for ref. =] )
GAS for me is under control, only buy what i need and only what i need. Not the kind that spends on redundant things.

Got my first guitar in sec 3... A C70 from yamaha... bought it after i learn 4 chords from a friend... Haha... then after that i added a acoustic to my collection cause I wanted a more "rock"(pardon the anyhow use of words) sound... then i didn't like it and sold it off...

After which I bought my first electric, then my second acoustic before adding on my last purchase... another new electric...

Bought all of the guitar with my own savings and cash... Parents were supportive but not rich... haha... so in the end bought all my gear on my own.. almost had to survive on bread and water after that... haha

First Guitar

When I first picked up a guitar/bass,I was clueless.

My first bass belonged to my sister.A TGM bass.She picked up learning bass for a while,the stopped.I was bored after my 'O's were done,I started to learn on it.My dad was thrilled and he taught me and brought me to the studio to play.Only the two of us and a drum machine.We played blues,blues and more blues.

My second bass belonged to my uncle.A 1984 Squier.Yep,that old.I played it until it fell apart.Just too old I guess.Currently being restored.Needs a new neck and all.

My third bass was a CIJ Precision.Paid for half of it with my savings from my NS allowance.Dad paid the other half.

These few days I've been Gassing for a Jazz bass though.

My first acoustic guitar belonged to my sister too.Yep,mine was a Congress acoustic too Same thing,she lost interest in it after some time.

Hah,I fear I might end up like my dad someday.

Currently,he owns 5 electrics and two acoustics guitars.

Whereas I own only one bass...

Not much of a buy sell person, but heres wad i've been through

started learnin when i fractured mi foot durin e holidays and had nothin to do at home, and mi inspiration? JOHN MAYER!!!

1) Morris Acoustic (hand me down, technically i'm e 3rd generation owner, and i ain't never ever ever never gonna sell this baby)

2) Gretsch 12 Stringer (my dad bought it for himself, didn't have time to play, den gave it to me)

3) Craftsman Les Paul (bought it with mi own money, first ever electric)

4) Hamer by slammer superstrat (had it for a abt 2 weeks, was mainly used as a backup guitar)

5) Yamaha YG 521R (mi favourite of all mi guitars of all, was really sad when i had to sell it because of my smoking and drinking habits)

6) Peavey Predator 7 TR (floyd didn't stay in tune, 21 frets only, but really nice thick stock pickups, traded it in for the aria stg 003)

7) Aria STG 003 (really nice and bitey, the stock single coils handled insane distortion well, but i have no idea why the hell i sold this...)

8) Yamaha Pacifica 112 (bought from a friend, he hated the sound and feel of it, after playing it in for a year, it sounded absolutely power, comparable to a fender us strat, den he wanted it back, so wad to do...considerin i never realli paid for it (= )

9) Line 6 Variax 600 (after abt 3 years of buyin mi own electrics, mi dad finally gave in a bought me 1, i love it and its extreme versatility)

next?

i'm lookin to get another yamaha YG after workin this comin semester break, i not chinese so CNY doesn't really help much =(

let me share mine..
bought a Silvertone starter package at 200 dollars from Davis in 2005..
came with a samick amp which i still like to use today.. sounds great with my pedals!
my parents simply looked at me when i came home with the guitar, then my dad passed me cash ...
same thing, dad saw it and passed me a hundred bucks..
parents supplied a lil cash, which i didnt use..

u must have hipnotise your dad!
