Fender

yar i noe but there is like lots of variety to choose ..im confused which one is gd..i try quite a number and it feel the same

patience is a virtue.. :D ..go try out every fender strat you can get hold of(brand new or pre-owned) that's within our budget..give it time..you'll eventually cross path with the strat that's right for your application.. :D

whenever possible, it would help to bring your amp(if portable enough) and your main effects when checking out strats to see how it would react with your setup..

Then maybe the guitar isn't the right instrument for you...

Perhaps you should get a entry to middle range one which you like, feels good to you, and doesn't cost you a pocket in the hole. Getting a feel for good tone is like wine appreciation; it takes time to develop the skill. Well, one must get the first bottle of wine, drink for a period, and then using that as a reference, work your way.

And yes, google is your friend. So is the soft Search function. Try Fenderforum.com as well.

Cheers
Raymond

dammit guys

just give him a model number.

he just need a model number so that he can go to the shop and buy in peace!

I was about to post the same thing edder..

I think Steel just wants/needs a model to go and buy. Can we start name dropping?

Fender XXX playboy edition!!!

hahhaa... I think subversion mentioned one Fender Japan model with basswood and USA pickps.

If I were to buy a guitar blindfolded, I'll get that one. Yes the one that subversion mentioned. Yes.

Do a search lazy boy. *takes out cane*

if it feels the same, spend 200 instead of 2k then

Seriously, take time to read the replies here and ask yourself is it worth to prepare 2k for a guitar when obviously you don't really know what you're looking for.

Finding the right guitar takes years, and that is why forums like soft exists, for us gearheads to GAS and discuss/whine/rave/brag on gears. I belive u just started out? Ur confusion is something that I experienced when I started out too. Tone is a very subjective matter, what may sound good to me may not sound good to u. I thnk the best thing to do is just get a decent instrutment and start praticising, then start fussing abt the tone you are looking for. And a 2k budget can get you very decent instrutments.

okok...

you want a fender STRAT.
you want Neo Classical
You have 2k

i think its very straigh forward... get a malmsteen strat.

YJM strat.

CIJ Fender ST72-58US..best bang for the buck..tried it against higher-end CIJ models, mexican strats and american series strats..it has the tone i was looking for.. :D..

surprising that it has that glassy fender tone for a non-alder bodied strat..

hi Steel,i'm not a pro,but i'm into fenders.tried MIA,MIJ,CIJ,MIM,and sometimes luck do play a big role.wood,pick-ups,tones and yes..trying alot of guitars,i mean ALOT. used to have MIA,sold..CIJ,sold,
the only one left..MEXICO. the only guitar that i'm really confortable with.
dunno bout you guys, but for me its LUCK,and yes..fingers

it goes to show that body wood is only a fraction of the tone equation.

nice one subbie. I think I need to get a conventional guitar with minimal mods.

like a STRAT. hur hur hur....

that big headstock is MOJO. neoclassical MOJO... all it needs is scalloped frets and a ciggie burn somewhere on the body!
