Fender

Is that strat the one with the 'wide' fretwires? Cuz most of the jap ones are vintage frets.

I know that one of the 70's model has 'wide' fretwires as stated on the ishibashi web.

i'm so interested with the new fender highway1 series! cant wait to try them out!

but i'm keeping in mind jap ones. wat pickups do the jap models usually offer? like that st72 or 68?

There's no strats like vintage strats, esp pre-CBS models.
Most of the new ones are crap! :D

it's in the wood.

the new of today is the vintage of tomorrow.. 40 years to come, my 98 strat will be vintage

nah... they dun age the wood anymore. back in the days they use old wood to build new guitars.

another one of those "myths"?

I belong to the slimmer headstock camp too :) In any case, a 62RI strat or tele usually floats my boat

quite a strong statement.. :D im assuming you have lots of experience playing not just one but lots of pre-cbs fenders to arrive at this conclusion.. peace.. :D

Really meh, bigger headstock more sustain?

Wahrao, like this must buy like 30KG guitar with super wide surface area liao. Sound can resonate all over.

Yeah, played a handful of them. Just don't know why most of them just sound so good, esp the pre 1965 transitional ones. Their highs are thick and not so piercing as compare to the new ones. It's a pity, i've only owned one early 70s. The price now for them are really beyond ridiculous!
