Hi guy! Is fender American Traditional Stratocaster good for playing neo-classical? Can i hav ur comments pls!!Also incude the overall rating on tis guitar

have u never heard of harmony central? or even played one yourself? i can understand if ure asking abt a guitar which is rare and hard to procure thus a small chance to test and asking for advice. but this guitar is one of the most readily available. ur opinion on the guitar would be the best answer for your own question.

why neo classical?
Its so passe.

There's been no extention of the genre up till now, and all the famous neoclassical people, have compositions that all sound alike.

:D

heh, relax relax, lets not make this into many pages again on the state of music.

Afterall, sometime its of no choice that we come across a certain type of music at a later time.

But ultimately, must realised www.google.com is our best friend!

heh, sometime too rush liao mah. Afterall everything will have its time to come.

Like the cheenas like to say, not that no retribution, but just that time havent come yet. Hahaha, not retribution in this situation thou.

cheena = chinese no?
Sorry, I can't speak that language no more. :P

But damn man! I tried to find neoclassical rockers/guitarists that have taken the genre to new heights, new levels! But all I found were more metal heads, donning tight leather and running up diminished/harmonic-minor scales asap!

Okay okay, steel will have to figure it out himself. One day. :D

yes, cheena, chinese, me etc

buy guitar technique every month, that one can make it go beyond. Provided really practise everything in it

hmmm a fender thread... please allow me to OT a bit but i've seen a couple of MIJ fenders in ranking music the other day at only $991. anybody knows what models are they?

not sure of the exact model, tried them and was impressed..good bang for the buck.. has a basswood body and US vintage pickups..you can get it for 800 at davis..a/b'ed it against the st68-85tx model which is a higher model and has the alder body and texas specials, the st68 is quite middy and less chimey for my taste..

tested the japan fender strats at music theme(not sure, the one besides davis), it has an alder body and lace sensors..verdict,,good for high gain but average clean..nice thing about this is that its quiet for a strat on high gain settings..maybe due to the lace sensors..

tested some american series strats and the mexican 60th anniversary, the japan fenders with basswood is hands down the winner..but of course this is just my opinion and it just so happens that the tone it puts out is the one im looking for..try it and see if you like it.. :D

Thet woods are different, not better or worse.

You want the best, you can pay thousands of dollars for a custom shop, or a relic or whatever. And even then, it may not appeal to your tastes.

Just try a lot of guitars out, see and hear what's the best for you. Remember your preferences, and the feel of the guitar, are the things that can rarely be changed.

No model promises that every single guitar in that model sounds good either. The best thing you can do, is find someone who played guitar for long, take you around, tell you in person. You learn it fastest that way.

Remember to treat him coffee or something as thanks. :)

Steel, didn't you read Subversion's posts properly?

Its your ears, your touch on it, that decides if the instrument is a keeper.

Google, do your research on the various differences amongst fenders. Neck size and pickups are some of the things you should know.

Then from there, make an educated choice to go out, to G77 or somewhere, and try those models.
