Boss SD-1 (MIJ)
Danelectro Transparent OD

The SD-1 is highly coloured, sweet sound that touches your tone in all the right ways..

The TOD is simply superb! Makes me gas for a proper Timmy/Tim.. Simply offering "more" of your own sound.. No changes in EQ & compression, but improved dynamics to give one hell of a rollercoaster ride!

Care to elaborate bro? Before I splurge on one of Paul C's inventions!
What I dislike about the TOD:
Enclosure
Bass/Treble knobs (integrated pots)
Location of knobs

The Timmy is still attractive since it is a cheap pedal (only 120US), uses higher grade components and jacks, attractive enclosure and has a dedicated bass and treble pot..

if thats the case, by all means do so. hahaha. if u can wait.. 120usd is not expensive. so go ahead!

cos i made my statement based on gmd's demo. i have not personally a/b'ed them before. but i do own a TOD.

I find his demos a little too harsh at times.. But oh well.. I'm too lazy to spend anymore.. Maybe I might rehouse the bugger into an MXR-sized enclosure or something..

But the TOD is really something.. Plus a TOD V2 should be releasing soon which I wanna get too..

I've tried tonnes of ODs, am a ODaddict, and yet my Maxon OD9 still the deserted island pedal. It connects with me and is utterly dynamic and smooth and sweet yet harsh when you want it. Zendrive and OD1 is next. But nothing beats a post-war Fender with the volume all the way up. World war two lah not the war in Bosnia.

Oh oh BK Butler Tube Overdrive!
