Mark King is the singer and bassist of the band Level 42, he is one of the top slap and pop bassist too , he had a jam with Casiopea bassist on a song called Galatic funk , it is 2 of the top bass slapper chellenging each other to a slapping duel . Go check it out and hear for yourself

there are very few talented, technically challenging, bassists in the black metal genre. one of whom is Lars Norberg, (pic above- Ibanez BTB bass) currently a touring member of Satyricon. if you are interested in his technicalities, get hold of Spiral Architect.

my fave bassist is the bassist of Parental Guidance His nickname is Cobra.
They used to be a home band in Insomnia cafe at Chijmes. He could play RHCP bass line very well and also many other songs from Level 42 (never heard them play DT songs though)
