Empress SUPERDELAY in!!!

wahhh nice size, damn impressive set of features! been using a DD20 for the past 4-5 years. maybe its time is up?

Wah, so many knobs and toggles. Seems impressive and super versatile. But I will stick to my Maxon AD999.....only 3 knobs, big big one some more.....delay for dummies. ;)

but dun make sense leh... this one gotch more knobs... more knobbage = rule the world!

That is the fundamental rule in our world! More knobs = more mojo..
Ask edder to include more knobs in his Sahasrara leh.. Tubezone 6 knobs also not enuff one!

Haha.. This is the coolest delay I've heard so far online (knobs haven):

Seen the demo from proguitarshop on youtube?

I was... slightly under-whelmed...

Yeah.. I find just the delay to be almost as nice as the Replica..

The modulations were nice, as compared to the Subdecay Echobox..

Don't think the Drive was necessary.. Nor was the 'pi' option for the golden ratio..

And having the Trails option is really a big plus!

Overall, it striked as an easy to use delay (a little too big), that is simpler to use as compared to the Eventide Timefactor.. I think of it as an expanded Echobox..

Replica got tap function no?

The replica, (which is the same as the tc's vintage delay, but with different cosmetics) has tap tempo.

The empress is a very different animal as compared to the replica. As explained on empress' site, if you're looking for a simple delay, this is probably not for you. It's a very complicated delay with very high specs. Definitely something that would require you to read the manual. But to get basic features out of it, is pretty easy. However, the Superdelay is so power packed that it'd be a waste if you don't explore further.

Whatever idea you may have about what a delay is suppose to do, totally goes out the window with the Superdelay. The whole self oscillation ringing feedback thingy seems like an old overrated trick when you compare it to the Superdelay's reverse delay, auto, rhythm functions.

There are few pedals out in the market that inspires. The Superdelay is definitely one of those.

My only gripe is it doesn't have a separate dry output. But that can be easily rectified by getting an ABY box. It's not the most user friendly pedal out there, but it's lack of idiot proof intuition is easily overlooked after you spend 15 mins with this baby.

It rocks!!!

No, this is not a review. :)

more is still more! Tone is overrated and features shall take over!

Just gotten the superdelay, but no time to test out yet. Its much smaller in size then what i expected(as compared to the boss pedal beside it)

Ya looks smaller than I imagined it to be. Waiting on your opinion of the pedal when you've tried it. It's one I have on the radar..

just had a spin with the pedal. The adaptor for the pedal is pretty thoughtful and it came with the pedal..

reverse and tape setting rocks my boat, for the musciality and sensitivity of the effect. Rest of the features imho, sounds pretty good at what it does and slightly comparable in term of tweaking ability, to some other delay pedals i have/came across with similar features.

some "it will be nice to have" features, imho..

1) tweakable modulation and filter section instead of switch to select "either this or that setting"

2) Dual output with "ping pong" effect for the rhythmic setting

fwah, pathin, is my eyes blinded? This is rare - you're gushing somewhat abt a pedal? Rocks your boat aye?

I wanted so bad to try it but alas the unit I tried, seemed to malfunction and I hope its not fried...

But I can say this. The knobs, switches and button - feel smooth and good. The paint is nice... yeahhhhh
