nahh....

Tone is in the GEAR. So buy more gear.

tone in the fingers? haha! it's an over-generalised statement that is not substantiated.

i say tone is in PEDALS! WHOOH!

so does it mean having skinny fingers give u thin sound having fat fingers give u fat sound?

fat finger to a certain small extend does have a thicker sound, in the context of a fretless guitar. The more meat that come into context with the strings and in relativity to the area of contact on the fretboard, the more mwahing might arise.

In a fretted instrument, it doesnt matter thin finger or fat finger coz the point of pivoting is on the surface of the fretwire.

sense or nonsense, its all but a choice.

ohmmmmmho :D

hahahahaha that just cracked me up.

tone is in the gear.

just a segway to the y.j malmsteen topic, tone for him, i take that back, aint in his fingers, but just his wild vibratos, and his supersonic runs.

OT: Have anyone of you heard of the greatest guitarist in the world, called Shawn( or Shaun, or Sean) Lane?

After listening to some of his stuff, while watching videos of him, my hat is off to him, and based on one vid, so are Vai's, Satch's and Paul's hats. WHOA.
