your gibson may or may not be a dud, lemon etc. but that is precisely the problem - many lemons are escaping the gibson QC. but the thread title didn't say YOUR edwards vs. HIS gibson, it just said Edwards vs. Gibson. i don't care what your experience with your guitar is, where everyone else is concerned, we are comparing 2 manufacturers, and not 2 guitars

That's a good and valid point. But with all general statements, there are also exceptions, and you will always require a baseline or a gauge to judge.

So, what's the baseline in this case?

At the end of the day, it's still up to the owner. Do you like your Edwards? Then more power to you. You prefer a Gibson? Sure... Go ahead. It's YOUR choice. Not other people's.

But it's when someone with a strong belief, comes in, and tries to pass that belief off as fact. Don't expect everyone to simply bow down and take it up the sphincter like you'd want them to...

Those seats look comfy enough compared to this:

This thread has become some sort of weird brag/flame-fest and yes perhaps based on value for money and manufacturer's QC record, Edwards would probably be the better choice. But at the end of the day, does it really matter? TS has his own opinion and makes his own sweeping statement that kinda irked the other camp, and it was reciprocated vice versa. Opinions change and they are after all, subjective to the individual...

But Gibson has more mojo/brand name and will always be touted as superior, psychologically of course, to the masses, especially to those who have parted with exorbitant sums of moolah on them(myself included) . Don't forget the fact that Gibson has better resale value but I'll leave that to another thread...

It happened to you and you want the whole world to know that you picked up the wrong guitars for yourself and therefore, the company that created these guitars suck. Edwards wouldn't even have thought of making a les paul shaped guitar if it wasn't for gibson in the first place btw(and strats would be the epitome of guitars!).

See? i knew it... The GT continental is a little lacking in the comfort area in the back. The seats are fine. It's the legroom and the getting in and out that's a bit of a lovelovelovelovelove. But it's a 2+2 anyways... Heh...
