Edwards vs Gibson

haha relac la guys, why the heated comments. im sure the edwards are good and japanese craftsmanship is renowned. the flame veneer on edwards is a turn-off for me though. tone-wise they all sound good to me.

the only gibson i didnt like was the studio model with the muddy 498/490 pickups. and the 50s neck is too thick for my chubby hands.

i prefer the somewhat 60s neck on my mij orville :D

anyway why are gibson made before 1996 better? or you refering to the golden years 1958 - 1960? haha. those 58-60 les pauls are unreal man, looks and tone-wise.

I totally agree that Edwards is amazing value for the money, but the TS is going on and on about how Gibsons are crap and "Edwards FTW", which is really annoying.

i believe that edwards is a name already, great reputation built over the years

Yes. The reputation is good. No doubt. Thing is, it's a reputation built on VALUE FOR MONEY. The same kind of thing you'd say about a Toyota. Not a Mercedes Benz.

Is a Camry a good car? Of course it is. No bones about it. Does it feel big? spacious? comfortable? yes.:D

Then you step into an S class...

Then you step into a S class...

and you complain the seat curvature doesn't fit your ass nicely.. You prefer the arm chair to be mat instead of glossy..

But in the S class, the ENTIRE seat contour can be adjusted to your body...;)

AND you can request for a different sort of leather (which isn't glossy to begin with... it's the grooming that makes it glossy).

Ive got to say that Gibson does have some really bad pieces, but overall they have established a name for themselves because of the many great pieces they have produced that outnumber their shoddy work in others.

I dont believe every gibson owner gets one for the sake of hype or for showing off. Of course there are exceptions on this.

To the TS whom stated that most people cant tell a diff if you had the chance to blindfold them and play a gibson epiphone edwards i think you are sorely mistaken.

If you wanna compare the number of bad pieces of gibsons, you should go firstly compare that of epiphones.

Dont get me wrong, i have nothing against edwards. They are great guitars but making a comparison like that is totally pointless. Its the individuals ears isnt it? Not the guitar brand/price

Try it out yourself

To be fair to my remarks I suggest to all my friends to pick up an Edwards and see, feel and hear. It is really a perfect clone if not better. Please do not disagree with me if you have not play one yet. Don't be bias.Gibson guitars are over priced world wide. So,if you intend to buy a Les Paul, think twice.

Well, Ferraris and Lambos feel small, cramped with seats made of composites so they are hard as hell. But they cost quite abit more.

You sure? Ferrari's and Lambos make my ego feel bigger than Suntec City!!!

wait... Composite seats? You sure? The last time I drove a 430 Spyder, I remember they were italian leather... And the Lambo Gallardo LP560's seats are anything but hard... Trust me on this. The Lotus Exige, on the other hand...

Aiyah... Apples and Oranges lah...

Okay I give up. This thread is pointless, and TS should stop being a hypocrite. "Don't be bias"?? Read your own post please.

Stop mucking around with the lower performance models meant for rich people who want a fast car with creature comforts. Frankly speaking, right now I'm REALLY DIGGING THE GUMPERT APOLLO. No creature comforts at all, just a very fast car.

Hahahaha... Dude... The lotus is as bare as I'd like to go... Having driven one, I think I'll be willing to sacrifice my back on that one. Otherwise I'll go for the Ariel Atom!

As for the Apollo, who says no creature comforts???

Those seats look comfy enough compared to this:
