Irfan,

If you need legal help, there is an avenue that you can take.

On another note,
I hope you somehow have photocopies of his and his wife's passports.

Btw, if the company was registered under a Pte Ltd company, you probably won't be a bankrupt.
But be prepared to do a lot of work to clear your name.

Please proceed with what fuzztremecho has mentioned, it will make everything much easier.

Legal avenue that you can take

Things to do if you haven't done them

Lodged a report with Ministry of Manpower pertaining to your employment status and benefits(or lack thereof)

Lodged a police report pertaining to the circumstances you are already in(for record purpose-as means to safeguard yourself as I see that in this point of time a lawyer is going to cost you money)

Indicate in the report that you were misrepresented by your ex-boss and that you were misled by him to register yourself as a director of the company

Is there any payment voucher for your salary received?Retrieved as many documents/paper trail for evidential purposes, be it invoice, orders, etc

Seek help from your MP.A MP's letter do carry weight, requesting him for assistance to the relevant authorities if need be

be prepared to do a lot of legwork to clear your name.

Last but not least, inform the media about your circumstances.

Can PM me if need to. Let me see what can i do.

PEACE

hi irfan, sorry to hear the state you are in. i don't know you, nor have i met you i think. i've never gone inside east side from the onset. looked a little dubious to me.

i may or may not be able to help you with the legal aspect. kindly liaise with me via pm and provide me with a little more detailed facts.

suing mr korean is another issue really. foremost we need to ascertain your liabilities (if any).

bro lightice

just to enlighten

a person/group of persons holding directorship/s in a Pte Ltd can be made a bankrupt if there is a claim made by person/persons for disputed sums

Bankruptcy Act Cap 20
2. —(1) In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires —

"bankrupt" means —

(a) the individual debtor who has been adjudged bankrupt by a bankruptcy order; or

(b) where a bankruptcy order has been made against a firm, each of the partners in the firm;

sorry to hear that. go lodge a police report and make it aware to the local that this kind of scam is happening.

cheers.

A director isn't a partner though.
Pte Ltd's liability is up to its paid up capital, a firm = LLC , Partnership or sole proprietorship.

Quoted from http://statutes.agc.gov.sg/
"Meaning of firm.
4. Persons who have entered into partnership with one another are for the purposes of this Act called collectively a firm, and the name under which their business is carried on is called the firm-name."

I may be wrong, but this is what I can remember from law class though.
I really hope that his liabilities is up to his company's paid up capital. Then it won't be that bad.

all the best man...hope u get outta this situation i dont think u remember me but we met b4 at east side i asked u about acoustic guitars.
