Drive pedal questions/reccomendations

Downloading... :D

I liked the Blackstone better than the Skreddy.

Something in the skreddy seemed to wake ur playing up abit though. As if you heard something then digged in for more.

The BB preamp did sound close to the Blackstone though. Then of course it also varies due to the large amount of variations in *insert the whole guitar chain*

how about a Timmy or a Subdecay Liquid Sunshine or my BBD??
the liquid sunshine is a very very mild OD which i think jony wont be looking for one :)

words to describe the sunshine is the max it can go with a realy nice breakup sound like a tube amp being pushed :)

Oh yeha.. setup...

Erm.

My Ibanez Saber, HAS Sound Viper (13.5k ceremic) in bridge, Helix (10k, Alnico 5) in neck.

To....

the Dirt pedals.

To....

A palmer junction DI box...

To computer... boosted the overall vol there, then thats it. Nothing else...

The Skreddy is nice. :) When with the Bstone.... ooooo lala...

you were certainly having fun.

So having heard them (but sadly have not felt them, which i believe is pretty important)

how would they fare against the BB preamp, small fry, stupid box?

I have no idea!

Heard the samples of the BB.. don't like it. :(

Anyway, about the clips... take note of the harmonics and the way the notes clash and sizzle.. i like that a lot. Okay. Too much. 8) Then for the bstone clips, that vol knob adjustment is a hilight of its abilities, to clean up ridiculously well.

Alrighty i'll give them a listen again tommorrow morning. Thanks a bunch for the help, I have narrowed the field down again. Will be dropping by TYMC really soon to try the rest out.

This booteek pedal hunt is really funky.

Have you tried boutique cables, amps, picks and strings? 8O

Welcome to the club!

Don't forget ah... that all these things must serve to make you WANT to play, to INSPIRE you and to keep your music journey fascinating.

This is my first venture!

Yes I think it will inspire me more. A little tired of having to play thru a low mid sucking non true bypass rig. :D

Got thru a second round with the blackstone last night...I have to say I'm lovin it more and more. That lil guy really gives clarity and punch. It is pretty different from a plexi-type pedal like the crunchbox. I feel that the crunchbox has inherently higher gain in the circuit (pardon me, I'm no pedal tech, just using layman terms to express what I feel/hear), and that the blackstone is just tighter and clearer. Having said that, the Cbox still does have its place in my rig. Can't wait for the Mayo and the Screwdriver. Then I'll have a ball of a time mixing and matching and tweaking and stomping.

Thanks to Daniel for recommending the Blackstone. Good stuff.

All the best in your tone quest jony!
