Drive pedal questions/reccomendations

I would like to know how you guys use your Fulldrive. Does it sound like a tubescreamer?

I am looking for a drive pedal that I can use at the end of my drives and have it boosted. Looking at a Subdecay StupidBox or Barber Small Fry, but would like to hear some opinions on the Fulldrive.

Reccomendations also very welcome. by the way. Budget is some 350.

If there is any tonal preference I am going for it'll be described as uncompressed(dont like high gain mush), yet able to have a good lead tone(have pedals to boost.. 808 and Hotcake), and also a full, space filling drive tone. I use a Telecaster(yes I know that it makes things abit harder) but it has good clarity already so thats one thing solved.

Anyway, Jony, you want a boost that is post-drive? That would make it a volume boost?

Consider Goose's Boosty. I have one (and the blackstone) so if you wanna try them... also can.

Yea man, I really like the blackstone so far, but I haven't played ard much with it yet...like finding out how all the knobs work, and the range of sounds I can derive from it. Maybe googling might help me when I have more time with the blackstone in front of me.

well... its quite a bit of tweaking really.

Its a set and forget thing IMO, but getting there is... irritating at the very least.

I mean, you can swap capacitors you know?!?! And I did. I swapped one of the stock caps for a ceremic cap, gave the Red channel more warm and a slightly looser sound.

Then there's that 2nd stage gain trim pot... and the precense/treble/brilliance trim pot.

Took me like a nice month... to finally sit down and say, " THAT'S IT! "

But when you get there... oh man... play it live... you've got a winner there.

Mm okay. So blackstone gets some pretty high marks. Something to look at!

Some clarification, I am looking for a pedal at the end of the chain to be boostED. Means I'll be runnig a TS7(808 specs) and a Hotcake to push it.

I hear that the Fulldrive is meant as a good drive pedal into a clean amp? Need some confirmation on that. I am not too keen on the Crunchbox. The high amounts of compression arent needed. I've got the TS already to do that.

I'm not too sure about the bstone being pushed... It wasn't my taste but some guys on TGP like a lot! In my board, the bstone is my od or raunchy drive, and its used to push my Screwdriver; 2 levels of boost there.

Have you ever played a Fulldrive? how does it sound into a clean amp?
If its anything like a tubescreamer, i would not like it. Meaning, if it has that irritating low mid hump ad funny transparent note thing going on...

imcorn, over at the guitar classifieds, is selling an MI Audio blues pro. You should check that out. Its a TS type pedal but low on the mid hump and compression (if gain is low)...

OKay... I have narrowed the field.

Just a reminder, this pedal is the last of the drives, I would like a phattish round overall tone that cuts decently well. amp like(uncompressed, with enough sustain when pushed by a tubescreamer) And I play a Telecaster.

Barber Small Fry
Subdecay Stupid Box(this is the highest gain I would prefer to go)
Xotic BB preamp
Sansamp Tri-AC(shreds is your still available?)
Any advice, reccomendations?

I'm really not a fan of tubescreamer like overdrives at the end of my chain. And so I hear the BBD is compressed?

I wont mind a Timmy... but they arent easy to find.

well..for the timmy.. u can order direct (wait time about 3 months).. or you can try to source one on Ebay or TGP (they go about $200 2nd hand)
