Do you guys know why not many talented keyboardists are in SOFT?

GOSH! I was just wondering about why there are only a few talented keyboardists in soft. I mean if I were really a talented keyboardist, I would have posted threads in soft, seriously. I hope softies would take the effort to go for keyboard lessons. LOL!

Talented people be in real world doing real music job then to talk like us, talk big big and in the end coming back to square one and to see people starting the circle over and again

.. because nowadays the expectations of a keyboardist are those that can program, have vast knowledge of keyboard controls, can have ideas and improvs on the spot, and play like Beethoven?

If a band asks for a keyboardist to play basic chord synths and some melody leads, I'd probably give it a try. But yeah I think piano has more appeal compared to keyboards so I'm not sure whether people would want to spend money to take lessons on it..

Hayley, if you look at the keyboard section of the forum, you'll realise that most of us would try to answer questions rather than start a post. So if there are no questions, there will be few posts. That does not mean there are no (or few) talented keyboardists around. We have:

Keyboardman, Iansoh, Piano_ex, Sonicbrat, Bongman, Doubleblade, pf, zenguan, lowjk, joel68, silverbeast, winterain, teralasch and many others - in no particular order. Each has their own expertise - from analog to electronic to classical to arranger keyboard to orchestration to gears etc. I would call them all very talented in their own areas. And you'll be surprised that quite a few are multi-talented, not constrained to a particular genre or skill.
