don't ignore insults, some are aimed at your mistakes.
in this way, don't be lowly and try to argue your way above other musicians, let your fingers do the talkin.

But the thing is i love the bass simply because its such a mystery and beauty at the same time. And the sound? Wicked man. Must i slap and pop just to enjoy my time as a bassist?

Contrary to popular belief, ignorance is NOT bliss when it comes to music.

That's our lot in life, can't really escape the stereotype.....people will only appreciate it when we're gone.

Okay perhaps an exaggeration, but.. well you get the idea. We're not meant to be basking in the limelight. :cry: as much as some of us would like to sometimes..

HAHA you forgot the damn drummer... all the girls go... i want to learn drums after they see a simple drum solo... OMG SO SEH! swoons*
 
i play all 3 instruments.. electric, bass and percussion.. but when i tell giels i play the bass, they'll go.. 'eee, play drums and electric guitar cooler la.. bass like stupid fella, no action also'.

in a band, the electric guitar can't survive on its own because it sounds too trebly.. you dun see a guy doing a guitar solo without the bass backing them up or at least the drums..

drum solos will go boring once you listen too much of it..

bass is the only instrument that can stand on its own for quite a while(if you know the scales) without the backing up of a drummer or a guitarist.. and it'll still sound soooo good..

I still don't get why chicks don't dig bassists.. i know some bassists get it all.. but in general, bassists are not the chick magnets.. heck, even pianists get the chicks more than bassists do..
 
They will only understand when they sit on the amp. :twisted:

But then again, that's besides the point.

I'm contented knowing that I wield the only instrument in the band with the power to make people dance.
