DIY Pedals

Try posting on luther for totally beat up wahs?

Check Guitar Connections, they have wahs, 2nd hand ones.

Then with the chassis, all you need is that circuit board.

OK, I know where is Guitar Connections, I can go there to check out when I'm free. Btw, where is luther? Is it a forum or something?

iirc Autowahs should be easier to make, but the parts for a wah generally are more difficult to get.

haha.. same nick lah.. of course its me.. haha.. no lah.. sold a budda wah, dano trem, small clone and the em5 for the 6 pedals.. haha..

think i might be modding both delay kits with an inbuilt fx loop + a pot to control oscillation + a switch to be able to use the pedals in the delay loop in the normal signal chain when the delay is bypassed.. then most def. gonna sell of one of the delay kits.. whahaah

Pot to control osciliation? How would that work?

Anyway, i could never figure out how to use osciliation unless its done like SiB's Mr Echo...

lol.. i not sure how the one on the mr echo works so im not sure.. anyway gonna build according to some plans.. so the delay im gonna keep is the guinea pig.. if it works out great then i'll do the same for the one im gonna sell.. haah

and all this can be done only during december.. haha.. gonna be a long december for me.. 6 kits to build :P

The SiB MrEcho works like this.. it has a SLAM footswitch, non latching. When depressed, the repeats max out, the delay goes to the shortest, so it osciliates wildly, quickly building up to wall of noise/music/lights/exploding speakers...

It doesn't work as well, IMO, if you just make it osciliate to a longer delay time... like say 300ms, then imagine when you osciliate you have to wait in sets of 300ms for the osciliation to build up... probably have to wait a second or 2 before the wall of sound is reached... imagine if you have a 700ms delay time.

Thats what I've experienced when experimenting with osciliation.

imho, the useful mod to a delay is expression control for the repeats. 2nd one gotta be for the delay time. One to control oscillation, the other for pitch variation when delay in oscillation

thanks shredter, i am in a transition period. Moving away from wall of sound into wall of silence with playing electric guitar but not plug into the amp. With each note or chord of playing, it will be transposed into the mind of the viewer or listener. The end result of what is heard, will be up to the imagination of the listener and at anytime, they can add in melody or thoughts in mind to go with the mind mapping of the notes/chords i have played.

In a way, the communication is between my wall of silence guitar with the added colours of the audience mind to form the purpose of the performance.

And i say again, wall of silence is the extension of 4'33 and beyond!
