i was always wondering .. is there any place that do PCB board for hobbyist?

and heard alot of PnP method. but don think it's sold in singapore

any other method of doing a own PCB?

If you r going to shop to do pcb i don't think it a good thing.I have ask them but they only take 100 pcs order.Even if they take it gonna be expensive.
To diy it much better.the problem is the solution for etching=hard 2 find.

Here is a good link to diy pcb.

he will show u step by step diy pcb which is simple and no hassle.:D

Hydrochloric acid and Ferric Chloride are now controlled substances in Singapore and you can't get them commercially.

Sodium persulfate should work (PCB etching) but I don't know where to get it. Anyone?

Just resort to stripboard. I've seen some synths and complex guitar effects done using stripboard.

Here are two of my phasers still under experimentations on what mods should I further apply.

Phase 90:
-I did experiment with resonance/feedback, phase intensity and wet level but I did not find anything pleasing as they are to subtle for my taste. Now I'm gonna buy my parts for the ramp-up/down LFO and try on it.

Here's another shot:

Phaseur Fleur:
-This was supposed to be a multi-knob and multi-switch phaser but I found the basic 5 knob controls too interactive that I'm already finding it hard to tame this beast. I still have to test the waveshaper mod and this phaser I think will be good to go.

Showing the LDR's:

3PDT Foot Switch/Enclosures = Ty Music Centre
All other parts = Koba Electronics/Sim Lim Tower

You can do a lot of effects here in Singapore without resorting to going overseas online for parts.

That's way to clean! Make it look more messy so that I can have piece of mind. haha

It's cool to see so many making their own effects, no doubt influenced from the shifu's lurking in this forum. We should like totally have our own subforum or facebook group to help each other along. :p

nice work there....neat and clean.

One suggestion ....if it's gonna go on the road ...get em socketed parts soldered(except for IC's)

Btw a pseudo vibe mod is the best i have tried ...the rest as you say "subtle".

Question for Goose and Edder:

About these gain pedals made today by many boutique pedal makers. Those ICs used in tubescreamer clones. Do they program the logic maps in them themselves? or buy ready made? Or do things the hard way by using old school MOSFETs and/or BJTs?

No lah...those custom made chips cost $$$$$$
what logic program ?? opamp only dei !!

Most use readily available eg
JRC4558D
TLO72
LM353
NE55332
OPA2134
....just to name a few.

Op amps in ICs are basically multiple logic gates programmed to work as an op amp mah (AND, NAND OR NOR blah blah blah). There are a few configurations to use. That's why I asked of they programmed the ICs themselves. Programming is easy. (Poly 1st year learn liaoz)

So what you're saying is off the shelf ICs are used lah?

Yupps. Some also prefer different brands that supposedly give better tone, such as Burr Brown opamps. I don't think many pedal makers use specialized opamps. My fulltone ocd v3 is using jrc4558 iirc.
