Distortion Pedals

Could any of you guys recommend a good but not too expensive pedal? And a you don't actually step on a distortion pedal just to get the sound out, right? I think my friend is somehow misleading me...

If you connect up everything, guitar to pedal to amp.

Make sure u plugged in amp to house circuit. Pedal has battery or adaptor.

Dials are set so that there is sound.

yes.. you step and there will be distortion.

You can usually find one on the Luther's add section going for around $50.Or you can get one from Swee Lee.

luther music is a shop.. but the classifieds part is not under him.. it's ppl selling their 2nd stuff online..

multi effects is a pedal with practically all the effects inside.. wah, delay, phaser, distortion, chorus..

pros: it's programable meaning able to put a couple of effects together n store them.. it's cheaper then buying all the other effects too..

cons: it sounds digital most of the time, not as good as single analog effects..

DarknessFury : please read the stickied post (Guitar Gear Sticky - PLEASE READ b4 posting Qns...[191205]) on the top of the Gear-Guitar forums before posting your questions, most, if not all of them have been discussed in the threads within.

the boss ds-1 will be a good start to your guitar distortion. im also new to gears, so i feel that begginers should go with the ds-1.

or you can buy the turbo distortion if ya wanna have more kick to your sound ;)

i dont know, but i feel that the ds1 is too mild to be used as a main distortion unit. for that price you can get the behringer gdi21, which is a clone of the sansamp gt2. do a search on it, good stuff.

well it depends on what kinda distortion you are looking for actually
for me. a DS1 isnt suitable for me.

so yeah.....are u playing punkrock stuff?
cause from the way u design your guitar....so yeah?

it depends what kind of music you play too. if u like metal or smt, i think the BOSS METAL ZONE (MT2) is quite good, it costs around $125 i think at DAVIS or u could try the luther site , classified ads. its better to get it second hand pedals could u save u lots of $ but make sure its in working condition. i dont know abt other ppl, but the MT2 is my choice for heavy distortion. :D

i would go for a marshall jh1 it's very versatile. gives u the classic crunch and overdrive from a marshall amp, although not 100% exact but it's good enough. with the marshall jh1, u can go from classic crunchy rhythmn to modern screaming lead. 8)
