Distortion Pedals

u should get the lazer distortion pedal(orange) sounds nice sellin at $55 at music theme the penin one...

i find that DS1 MIJ and MIT no much difference... really just might as well as get the MIT in swee lee for 70 bucks and sent for modding

ive tried keeley modded DS1 at G77 once and i pretty quite like it... nice distoriton there

Well, bottom line, let your ears tell the difference. I would never use an MIT again, modded not not. The MIJ simply sounds so much better. But thats for me... ;)

can a stock DS1 be modded to MIJ specs?

Why would you wanna mod to stock specs? Defeats the purpose.[/quote

hey man, speaking of which, I just ordered an Analogman modded DS-1, supposed to be a huge improvement over the stock DS1 but still retaining the DS1 vibe...

Shall review it when it drops into my house. :)

Actually the main difference is the chip.
The MIJ DS1 uses the Ta7136ap.

There are also 3 versions of the DS1 ..
MIJ, Ta7136ap
MIT 1st issue, with the Ta7136ap
MIT, with the new chip

Main difference between MIJ and the new DS1 is how the TONE knob works

But the MIJ and the MIT (first issue) sound different even with the same chip.

IMO: i like the Taiwanese 1st issue best. It's got that extra "crunch", while i find the MIJ DS1 abit too smooth for my liking ..

:)

oh forgot to add ...

If you've managed to get ur hands on a MIT with the Ta7136ap chip ...
to change it to sound like an MIJ is super tedious ..~!

You've gotta change ....
almost all the parts other den the chip and pcb.

One question for those who've tried the Behringer X V-AMP before. Is the distortion of it any better than the GT2 or the DS-2?

i've owned the x v-amp and ds-2 b4.. ds-2 cost ard 70 and x v-amp ard 100? since the diff not more i'd get the x v-amp.. it has more versatility.. a wider range of distortions.. cuz the ds-2 IMO only shines in turbo mode.. was pretty decent for awhile, but i slowly grew bored of it..

somehow during my quest i've settled for a jackhammer now.. the marshall crunch.. and it's even cheaper than the other 3 pedals u're looking at.. u can save up for the billy joel's signature gibson coming out this year.. haha.. 8)

The X V-Amp costs 128 at Luther's...I'm not sure which shops sells the DS-2 though...

I'm not sure how much the signature gibson will amount to...if it costs a bomb, I'm going for something much lesser then...XD And it's Billie Joe!

Got a question for you guys

Which one better, if i only had these 2 choices

Behringer V-amp stuff vs. Zoom 707II or G2 stuff ....

Take into consideration i prefer better amp modelling over digital effects.
