hearing about the J&H, imo, i prefer this towards the route 66. I found out that by playing around, when you actually operate both pedals with moderate 'drive's on both channels, and with the tone/eq settings right, you can get more 'boost' and variable distortions as compared to the route 66.
one thing about the J&H, is that its based on the famed original TS808, with the other channel, if i'm not wrong, a TS09. Thing is, the gain for both are quite high, and you'll be getting sharp feedback when u use high gain on both at the same time.
the tone of the sound can be sustained longer as compared to a TS808, but it really takes patience in order to get the best sound out of this pedal. It took me almost an hour to get a 'ds-1' like kind of sound, and the possibilities from this pedal is a lot. Of course, it'd be best if you combine both in a chain, the sustain plus the distortion channel on the Hyde, whoa. haha....
just sold my Route66... saving up. =)
