Customising Electric guitar. custom guitar builders

I'm intending on customising my own electric guitar.

Anyone has any guitar builders to recommend?

My budget is round 1.8k.

I currently know of one in the USA

Are you intending to go full custom, with your own body design etc, or making one from custom parts?

If it's the latter, warmoth and usacg are both good choices for high quality parts. If I'm not wrong, USACG has a full-fledged custom shop doing totally custom designs as well.

Have you considered saving up a bit more and going to a builder with a good history and track record?

Because for my dream custom job, I would want someone with a good track record to build it. The price would be a secondary thing.

Maybe once fenderben gets his schroeder (I may have misspelt here) , he can give you a review. As far as I know, the build pictures are great and Jason really does consult and brainstorm with you on your custom piece.

But its generally above 2.5k USD.

I'm not endorsing any of the builders, but you can benchmark prices by refering to these builders

Suhr, Tyler, Anderson, etc.

If you want just an LP jr with a carve top, why not warmoth? Unless you want a set neck.

USACG has some great parts and designs at their webbie, do go and check them out. U can go to G77 and check their POT customs, they can do one for u at maybe a little higher ur budget.

That's quite a bad sounding guitar IMO.. In terms of feel too, it lacks the Gibson quality it is supposed to have..
My advice is to find parts online.. Good places are Warmoth, USACG, MightyMite..
I want a custom guitar too.. But an SG with Floyd Rose is almost impossible to find.. Lol.

And a floyd rose really adds flavour to your playing.. Especially when other strings don't stay in tune when others are being bent..

Touring musicians usually don't use full customs. Because they get PAID to use the off the shelf pieces...:mrgreen:

There were a couple of LP Junior makers out in TGP.

You should search there.

Some of the custom LP Jrs they make - wow. Screaming quality in that simple package.

Check that out.

1.8k can't really get you anything custom build... but custom "assembled" from Warmoth, USA Custom Guitars etc sounds more reasonable.

In the world of custom this and custom that, 1.8k is not a lot of money to get the guitar builders to be motivated. Maybe look east and check out the Thai builders.
