but how do u tell parents to discipline their own children?

alah, it's 11pm only. not like it's a 7pm curfew. =)

but in a way it's stupid, coz they expect us to behave like young adults, yet they're treating us like uncontrollable 8 or 9 year olds.

how often do you get into cops in the middle of the night? it really DEPENDS. my block is directly behind the NPC and they often do their night rounds. but well, most of them HECK CARE most of the time. like seriously ~

What if they're 18? Then you'll still have to call the police to shoo them off...=P

hmm depends also... some nights are sleepless, i dun mind watching them, esp the couples :lol:

Goodness. Ok NOW i cant wait for my birthday to come. but noooo i dont wanna be 18 yet. Sheesh. I think they should lower the age limit to like 15 or 16?

Maybe the govt is thinking for the safety of underage kids?

I mean hanging out late is one thing, getting robbed/raped etc is another? Underage kids need not necessarily be the criminal but the victim? Since they're more of the "easily targetted" ones.

But seriously, do any of you think that police will be so no-life as to stop everyone they think who is underage and check their ID? I mean we have a nightlife here and how can you distinguish "this guy/girl is under 17, stop him/her" and do this crap for the whole night?

I don't think government will impose such incentives for police anyway. Just like catching people who speed at night. See anyone speed, take down. You think police officers really catch everyone? Just see who suay lor, and just catch 1 or 2 to write in report "i got do work". Can you imagine if government really give incentives? I bet police won't bother catching criminal but just kids. "Hey you're under 17? ID please" Woo $10 reward.

anyway, today's papers says how this move introduced isn't a CURFEW. n so far no letters has been sent out yet.

but there are cops 'so no life' one. only that its RARE.

i tink dey sud lower the age. =) so kids, stay home n sleep, tomorrow school. haha

hey i tink that if u guys have suggestions which obviously u have, pls write to straits time's forum and voice out at least let the adults see it.why complain to ur frens when u can jus go post ur unhappiness in the paper. mayb the government might do something. For me, I don't understand why some students have to go out EVERYDAY and come home late.
Oh wait, I think I do.
I also understand there are times when going home after 11pm have good reasons (just finished a concert, party...).

But as a few of you have said, they may not go ALL the way out and 'catch' youths.
