Which one is better? cs-3 or digitech comp/sus? i had digitech one and when i turn up the sustain, theres this shitty noise..is it the same for cs-3? i actually need it for long sustain. do help thanks! cheers

Hehehe... dude!

The compressor, when you turn up the "sustain" or compression, you get "more" noise... its normal.

What you are doing is compressing hte sound, bringing up the volume of the soft sounds (e.g. hissing, humming) and bringing down the volume of loud sounds (adding a "ceiling")... hence, the "noise".

Its normal.

If you want more sustain, work with the guitar first... setup, strings, etc etc... or use an Ebow, or install a sustainer.

You want more sustain on clean or distortion?

hey

hey man! thanks for the information.Actually i need long sustain for my dirty sound! lets say? slayer? lol! something like that.. a looooooonnnngg sustain! =D

Use more gain. Not a compressor.

A compressor is more to be subtle, even on extreme settings, its best used clean.

Consider dirt pedals with high compression, like the *gasp!* Tubescreamer.

heya

hey man! tubescreamer.. i'm usign that right now.. right after sansamp gt-2.. the sustain is ok la... but i mean u know i like the slayers sustain.. u can like get laid for 45 mins and the sustain is still there hahaha

Uh.. Tubescreamer AFTER the GT2? Try it the other way round. Gtr to TS to GT2 to amp.

And no, no one gets 45 mins of natural sustain.

Its either feedback or assisted sustain via a sustainer/ebow/device.

heh, get a looper and loop the last bit of sustain, have it on repeat. The sustain bit will go on for days/years as long no one step on the stop switch or power failure!

Wooooooohooooooo
