was at City Music recently, here are some recommendations if you are looking for a good year-end bargain:

Pandora PX4D
Sale: $180
a very rewarding practice supplement, amplified or with headphones plugged in. includes bass modules as well.

LINE6 Floor POD
Sale: $275
i have more respect for this POD than its other incarnations- a good multi FX/ modelling unit should be between the guitar & an amp, not a mere computer supplement.

VOX DA5
Sale: $185
the little menace; dimunitive but 100% scorching (hot-seller, highly recommended)

oh oh oh... i like that little amp!!! Hehehehe.... cute one!

Does it have a line out for recording? Because if it has, then it would be REALLY very recoomended!

Aiming for the korg ax5g. Read everywhere but can't find out if it has a drum machine. Anyone knows?

have any one tried hartke piggyback? wonder if thats a good choice.. especially look at that price!

i'm considering between the Vox AD or this half stack babe which will at least looks good in my room!

wad do u guys think of the valvetronix vs spider III? which one u think will make a better pratice amp? my friend considering either one for practice purpose

hey. dun even think bout teh hartke piggyback. the sound is as bad as a boy whose voice is breaking. :D yep. its my personal preference though.

the spiders are good amps to own, especially if you are into the modelling aspect of tone. together with the on-board FX on offer (+ the sale price), it's a bargain.

however, i have an inclination towards the VOX offerings, especially the DA5. many would dismiss this amp as a puny, starter grade nonsense but that's before you hear it in action. the depth of tone it has to offer is impressive. the wattage selector adds the necessary warmth at saturated drive settings.

did i buy one? 8)

I'll be gunning 4 the PodXT Live. Want another 1 in my collection just in case :) . Its a steal at $545, I threw away my plans 4 a GT8 after I tried the Pod. Its Tubescreamer model is superb, very close to the real 1. Also u guys may want 2 go 4 the outgoing Spider II heads and cab. The Spider II HD75+Cab going 4 abt $600 and the HD150 going 4 abt $850, less than $1000 4 high quality stuff! How good can life get? 8)

unlike BOSS, Line6 made it a point to capture very convincing voicings in its emulation module, the former brand name are replicating their own FXs' patches in their technology... if you are a BOSS fan through & through, you'd prefer the GT8. the XT Live wasn't conceived to compete with the former, it's simply good in its own turf.

i dunno, when i boughtthe XT Live I was a noob. I thot it sounded better but even now that i have heard a wider range of FX, I still say its the best :) . If i want BOSS FX I'll jus buy their stompboxes, my Pod serves me well enough.

i tried the SATF- a good player, definitely, but the pickups need an overhaul. the SATP90 however, has very good default pickups.

The speakers are 4x8"

I'll prefer 10 or 12 personally but yeah its up to own preference. Maybe go down and give it a try man, then if possible post a review for us? The price is really tempting lol.
