My guitar didn't play well previously.

No idea if it was the set-up or what, the licensed FR bridge with graphtech saddles replaced by a certain guitar shop at a high price didn't stay in tune at all.

Was tempted to sell the guitar off as I've had enough changing strings on a FR that doesn't stay well in tune - until i decided to get the bridge changed.

And off it went for a face change, from gold hardware to chrome hardware! Everything is changed (locking tuners, string retainers, locking nut, bridge) to Gotoh parts. The guitar needed routing to accommodate the bridge as well.

It plays like butter now! Wham like nobody's business and it still stays in tune, and I swear it sounds MUCH sweeter and definitely has more sustain!

Gotoh makes the best floyd roses out there now. Comes with a brass block too - explains the even tone it has, no plinky-ness, good low end, thick tone. Incredible arm design too, very tight, torque-adjustable and reliable.

I changed an Ibanez Lo-TRS trem with the Gotoh before. HUGE tone improvement and the thing stays in tune.

Did you have the locking posts installed too?

Nope. Don't need lah, but its nice to have them so say, if you remove your trem for re-string/cleaning, nothing moves/shifts.

Besides the Gotoh's parts are probably much better made than the stock ibanez posts.

Also lends more peace of mind that another movable part is locked down - which is the key to a double locking system.

the locking post also prevents ur "settings" to go out of place and i heard it'll provide more couping thus even more sustain. just the "i heard"..

Anyway he bought the bridge real cheap! $120 or something for a first hand and comes with original box and etc! Damn it's even cheaper then when i bought it from a mass order a while back.

Wait, Edder, you were talking about locking POSTS at first - as in trem posts, where the trem is sitting on.

Or TUNER posts?

Locking tuners are redundant with the locking nut. Personally, I think its "detrimental" - if one follows the "proper" way of using locking tuners. That is, pull a string tight thru a tuner and lock it so the least amount of winds is used. On a floyd system, its a - 1 because if that is done and a string breaks at the bridge, you have nothing left on the tuner and you can't reuse the old string.
