Christian/Catholic rockers come in!

i usually go last service .... depends on how my saturday night is .. hehe sorry ah i'm not the guai guai christian guy .... i drink every saturday. Roomful of blues usually.

PM me and maybe can exchange numbers. :)

haha, guitarman, maybe u shouldnt smoke anymore lah...Pastor prince once said, "If i smoke, i can still be a christian ah? CAN! BUT GO HEAVEN FASTER!" lol... Its not about being a "guai" christian, but knowing how good God is to me, how much he loves me, makes me don't want to commit sins.(again, im not saying i dun do wrong things, i still do, but its not my intention to!)

anyway, many ppl think New Creation is a cult or something, i know, cos i was previously from an Anglican church, most people who said they are a cult have NEVER heard sermons from there, NOR attended their services before...they just believe what someone else told them, who heard it from someone else...who heard it from someone else...many also think we are a "youth mega church" which goes around evangelising ppl aggressively in schools, but it was announced just last sunday, there are only 600 youths out of 13,000 members! Furthermore, we never force the gospel to anyone, cos God is a gentleman. And those people in traditional churches who HAVE heard of their sermons never claim that its some cult. I was set free in so many areas and had so many misconceptions cleared because of NCC.

My stand is, those black metal or whatever rotten/die/death whatever metal isn't what we should condone, cos some of them take an obvious stand of giving glory to satan, or to death. Death itself was a curse to mankind, that was what satan wanted to acheive. The original plan of God was never for man to die, man only needed to face death after his downfall. So, im not for those music as well, nor anything that takes our focus off Jesus, and to death or satan.

well michael ... i'm glad you're enjoying yourself in NCC as a youth and you are happy with you current lifestyle. And you have good convictions about being pro-life which motivates you to abstain from anything that defies that order of life.

I love life too ... and i never endorse a lifestyle of hate and death .... i just want meaning and depth. And i don't believe in a system of regulations ... i worship God out of my freewill ... and follow his teachings out of my freewill too .... i'm just not too churchy that's all ... but i'm harmless and friendly. :)

hey guitarman78, u go which service? i am go 9am service...hehe.. :) eh...just noticed that AngusYoung n Nak also from there too?

i go sunday 9am too! but recently backslide alot, school's being a bitch i need lots of sleep. then i cant find anyone to go for 2nd service with me.

erm about black/death metal, i have no particular beliefs in it. i just like the energy and the sound of it.

hmmm ... young man you must be ... well ... if you interested, PM me then maybe we can meet on Sunday or something ... or join me at Roomful on Sat. :)

haha i dont like sat services. i dont know but sunday 1st svc is the svc for me, at least it's been that way for 5 years or so. im 17 btw

haha, nak, i understand, im very tired too, especially this year, school is from 8am-6pm...and im having trouble adapting to the new lifestyle of school all day, then go home, no time for my interests/relaxation, then must do homework, n revise for tests. But i find that i change a lot if i don't get the gospel refreshed. As in, i'd become more easily angered, might be scolding vulgarities if im really frustrated, basically, dont feel like getting very close with God. I know u know that feeling.

If i go to second service for some reason/for that odd week, maybe u can come along with me. Actually, for me, i dun need anyone going with me, cos when im listening to the sermon/singing songs, im mostly unaware of anyone whos with me. The messages are just too rich, and i can't help but be attracted. When did u begin attending this church? and did u accept christ here?

:) alright .... 1st service it is .... i really admire you young people, can wake up so early. i guess Sunday is meant for late mornings to me ... i love my bed on Sundays. :)

michael angelo, i've been in ncc for as long as i can rmb, backsliding in and out, then moved to chc for 4 months in 2004. im very unstable christian. and im bonded with guilt  .

i see, u first came with parents is it? Well, if you don't see it as something religious or spiritual or anything, you'd be so touched by God. He came for people like us...who feel guilty and bad and all. To u, i may be crazy or what lah, but sometimes(in fact quite a lot of times), i began crying while singing songs in church...like the line of one song...
"Cos you came near, from the everlasting, into the world we live, the Father's only son"
It really touches me soooo much that God loves us so much that he sent his only son from the everlasting, where every breath brings an undescribeable joy and peace, where he reigned over the universe, where he was the ultimate being...Let go of all those things to come into this rotten world where sin abounds(imagine what disgust sin is to a holy God), and where he was a man, just like anyone else, and subject to the treatment of those humans that he was actually far higher than.

yea, and then after getting bashed up totally, he died, went to sit at the right hand of God. The right hand of God symbolises something. In jewish culture, the Judge is flanked by 2 people, one on the right, and one on the left, the one on the right records those who are acquitted of their charge, while the one on the left is the one who records those who are charged as guilty. So He even went to the extent of sitting at the right hand of God(the judge), to symbolise that we are no longer guilty! For our sins have been punished on the cross, its a finished work, finished once and for all. For God to punish a sin of yours, that has already been punished on the cross, is a travesty of justice! Furthermore, God SWORE, that as he promised Noah never to flood the entire earth again, He SWORE that he will NEVER be angry at us again! How good can he get? :D

my mom was a ncc member when i was like 3. then she brought the whole family in. ya i've always believed in him. if count children church, i've been in ncc for more than 10 years

eh btw angelo, how old are you?

oh, no wonder, ppl like us, who are brought up in christian families from young, tend to be less interested in church. Yup, i was born into a christian family, so i understand a lot how u feel. I only began to "seek" God in pri 6, when i felt it wasnt right, i thought, Christianity, that claims to save my soul cant be just a chore of praying every night, and going to church reluctantly every sunday right? yea...thats when the turn began, but i changed even more after my mum took me to NCC in early 2004. So many of my doubts were cleared!

Ok, sorry that my replies are so long. I get really excited when i talk about God. Anyway, im same age as u, 1988! :)

=o what school you from? and how long have you been playing the guitar?

lol i was hoping to meet someone from the same church that could teach me smth, and wont mind my intrest in metal.

haha, im from temasek poly, and actually i do mind death metal la...lol...see my explanation in one of the earlier posts. Anyway, i played since sec 2(2002), and im more into happy rock like GnR, AC/DC...etc. as in, even when they are singing angry lyrics, the tune still sounds happy...lol! cos they eat too many drugs...hahaha!

haha, it's ok la if you actually do mind. alot of ppl mind my 'different' intrest in music. but surprisingly my mom doesnt mind, guess she knows and trusts in me; that im not a fool to worship the devil and sell my soul to him.
