CHORUS

hello!

could you guys please help me out here with a chorus pedal, i'm actually looking for it to give my clean / overdriven (not distorted) tone a more rounded, full sound. i guess i'd be putting my gassing for a delay pedal on hold first, going for a chorus before the delay. could you all recommend a few great deals with their pros / cons, like the boss choruses, or the ehx small clone (which i think i would love to get) or even the dano fab chorus. together with their prices and locations to get them? thanks!

Dude dont hold back on the Delay. Get a chorus, AND a delay. They sound great together! I run a Boss DC-3 and DD-3, superb clear chorusing! Yup, the EHXs are great too - lush chorusing effect it gives. Look around the buy/sell section, one may pop up anytime, at great prices offered by sellers too.

id recommend the clone theory for sheer tweakability and a nice lush flowing chorus, but that hiss just makes me anal. then again, most eh pedals have a slight noise prob. why not TRY to get your hands on a CE2.

in my books, the standard to beat is Danelectro's Cool Cat

hey subby, i sure trust your expandable knowledge on effects haha, but in your opinion, and the opinion of everyone else here, how does an EHX small clone, not nano clone definitely, fare against the dano cool cat?

and i dont think i'd consider the clone theory, its far TOO tweakable for now, haha i guess something with a depth and speed / rate will do for now, no need for the vibrato haha. wouldn't want to pay extra money for that function for now. thanks anyway!

if you happen to have like 499 bucks lying around, the tc electronics chorus is awesome. but for that price. i think they coulda done better

wow, what boutique choices haha. well i dont think id actually be looking for a boutique chorus pedal now, just some standard factory made stuff, i think the small clone would be it haha. i doubt its overpriced here anyway, boutique pedals will be for greater skills! haha

Plus one for the Cool-Cat, used to have it for real lush-ness. But you'd have a hard time finding it, unless it's still in production.

What mr.goose said is true. It'd be better to try some chorus pedals out and see if it actually is what you need/want.

I like how a chorus can add that little and subtle ring and twinkle to my sound. Too much and it sucks, imho.

In your case, you are going for a fuller tone. I'd recommend a short delay,

My 2cents.

^Yup, CE-5 good too! Just sold mine not long ago at a great price (good things = good price) bcos me got DC-3 very happy already.
