hi everyone,

just wanna caution others out there. i bought a gyser capo from blackwood guitars a few months back for 25 bucks. today i saw the exact same one at ranking sports for 12 bucks. that's jacking up more than twice the price man! there are so many means things i feel like saying to them but i shall resist. grr..how can retailers be so dishonest. never going back there again man. warn all your friends.

It is not their fault to sell the capo to you at a higher price which they did not force you to buy. They put a price tag and you bought it. It is certainly not a case of dishonesty.

nope. different shops hve the right to put a price which they think is reasonalble onto a product. unless they already fixed a price, then that's a different think all together

Using his argument, that means we should sue all shops which sell a can of coke for more than say, 80 cents? And call them all dishonest?

wrong choice of words, they were not dishonest. but that doesn't mean they did not do anything wrong.

i don't remember there being nothing wrong with stores ripping people off

Technically, you can't go back and accuse them of ripping you off since they didn't force you to buy, like the others have said. But you can learn from this also - comparison shopping takes time, but it also works!

25 bucks?! thats the price i bought an ibanez practice bass amp from them

$25? That's really cheap! I always thought bass amplifiers were slightly more expensive than guitar amplifiers. Oops, off-topic already!

It can't be helped about pricing though, a lot of major stores in Singapore jack their prices up a lot. A MIC Epiphone Les Paul standard costs $700 at Standard Value, and nearly $800 at Swee Lee. There's really nothing anyone can do about the pricing, its the shop's call.

Hmm im not sure if you should flame them. Its not really their fault.

For eg, School canteen sells a can drink for $0.60 each. Restraunts sells a can drink for $1.20 each.

What can you do? + theres the recession. Enough said.

it's not their fault. they didnt get you to buy it. you bought it at your own free will. too bad for you then. live and learn.

Hey, im getting tired of reading these posts... WAT IS THE USE OF CHECKING PRICES AFTER U BUY!!!!!!!!!

Dude, ranking like u said is just next door, u cld go over n check first b4 jumping the gun. U made a choice and a judgement, so dun shift the blame cuz u didnt bother to check the shop opposite b4 u buy. If you did check earlier, u wld save urself a great deal of trouble!!!

There is no cheating or dishonesty at all. Unless david himself said theirs is the cheapest in TOWN. If ranking sells higher, will u post n say gd things abt blackwood???????

From a legal point of view, they put a price on their item, BUT u choose to enter into a contract with them. its a willing buyer willing seller world we live in, and u went in willingly.

Its not about me siding with blackwood, BUT most guitar shops these days are so near each other. PLS GO CHECK B4 U BUY, instead of paying gd $ and then find out that the shop only 50 steps away is cheaper!!!!!

I just wasted the last 2mins of my life replying this, and i can nv relive that. SHIT...

ooh.. yes ranking has one of the most competitive pricing around.

their double brace X stand is $26 - the the same one at novelty music (parklane) is $39 (AFTER DISCOUNT, owner told me)...

guitar stand is $11 for single, $15 for double. i bought a single somewhere for $17 and already thought that was reasonable.. so.

haha comparison shopping takes a lot of time but i suppose if it costs less than $30 you could save time and transport $ by just buying it.

that said, ranking IS next door... :-X tough, man!

theliverevolution, haha i think i sound more pissed off then i am...

i think its just not fair to accuse someone of injustice when due diligience was not done on our part. N especially when all the shops are so near, n wats the point of checking after u buy? Shldnt u check b4 u buy? have we forgotten how to shop?

If u feel that they are more expensive then dun buy lor, why need to have a thread abt them being dishonest when they are not. and in this case, they were not dishonest.

wat this type of thread does is making potential geniune threads on dishonesty in future being taken lightly.

not comparing prices is not wrong, but being ignorant, is

starting a thread to warn of wrong business doing is not wrong, but being clueless of whats going on, is

buying expensive gear, is not wrong, but after buying and posting in thread on own foolishness, is

being a kaypoh fella is not wrong, more so when one decided to wash dirty laundary openly and allow others to be, kaypoh

Sorry, pardon, forgive me.
